Disclaimer: Talking in first-person-plural is awkward. First-person-singular is innaccurate. If you can figure out the proper grammar for my posting, good for you!
I am a web designer, herbalist & health product advisor, and mother of 2.
I am the editors and prime authors of Kinhost.org, a resource for persons with multiple personalities (Dissociative Identity Disorder). Kinhost.org sports an open-edit wiki, thus my primacy as an author/editrix there is only either because I have too much time on my hands, or no one else has tried to compete with me. (Or maybe it's because our egos outgrew our skull a long time ago.) No matter --
I figure that my website being mentioned at least 4 times on Wikipedia meant that maybe I ought to check things out, make sure things are on the up & up.
(and all that rot).
Enough about me -- What about ME?
editAt last count there were over 50 people sharing my head with me (someone anal wants me to mention 72). I'm a psychology student stalled at over 108 credits towards a B.S. Psychology with emphasis in Human Sexuality. My personal study in eclectic arts, crafts, and technology, led me to form my own business, Eclectic Tech, LLC. Now I'm studying to become a life coach, hopefully my final career. I'm officially a (Linux/Mac) systems admin and web consultant. I'm also a contributor to the PmWiki open-source project. I'm an herbalist, shaman and an Interfaith minister. My primary non-English language is American Sign Language although I am sorely out of practice. I also have the Open Source Reiki project under wing, though it needs a facelift and work.
Ultrabrief History
editOn the web, I was a BBSer in the late 80s, my website started in 1996, and I have been an activist in the Otherkin and Otherkin Host (multiples who have other species in their head than human) communities since 1998.
In Real Life(TM), I first thought I was otherkin (1985), then discovered I was multiple (1986), then found other otherkin (FALO -- Fantasy and Legends Organization, 1987) and ran like hell. I became a Queer community activist for many years (GLYNY, WHAM!), and amongst them was out about being multiple, otherkin (that term didn't exist back then, I always said "and there are people in my head who don't think they're human"), and bisexual. Things have changed a lot since then: it takes 11 less words to say that! Yay!
I found a group of otherkin in 1998 and became their first Otherkin Host "mascot" -- their prior experience with a multiple turned out rather poorly and it took time to prove myself trustworthy, and I think I've done well enough. In the meantime, I've personally branched a great deal off from the Otherkin community, concentrating on for-multiple, by-multiple resources and support. I still own and run a number of Otherkin & Host resources and lists in the community, but work, running a business, 2 kids, 4 cats, going to school, and liberal recreational activities (yeah -- right!) -- I don't "have a life" -- I have several. I live in Upstate NY, where I've dreamed of living for 30+ years.
I started creative writing projects at the age of 11, and formerly was only published in magazines, newsletters, school journals and of course on the web. I published my first book in The Crissing Link" series ("Poetic License - a poetic journey through the labyrinth of multiplicity) in July 2009 with 2 others on the way in the near future (Multiple Choice - What is it like to have multiple personalities? and United Front - a self-help book for people with multiple personalities) and have started my 2nd book (an independent book for holistic practitioners titled "Healer in the Hotseat: SURRENDER™ to burnout and create your burning desire"). For information on these see The Crissing Link or Liberated Life Coaching - Publications.
