The Elfstones of Shannara
editHello, I noticed that you created The Elfstones of Shannara (film)! I wanted to point you to the notability guidelines for future films, which stipulates that films not yet in production should not have their own article. This project has not begun production yet, so per future films department's process, I'm redirecting to The Elfstones of Shannara#Film adaptation. You can see similar redirects with Jurassic Park IV, Shantaram (film), Fahrenheit 451 (2008 film), and Logan's Run (2010 film). If production begins on this project, a stand-alone article can exist. Let me know if you have any questions! —Erik (talk • contrib) - 16:32, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry Sorry Sory, I think I have made a major... Ummm whatever... thanks that you have pointed me out. I am trying to restore my mistake as much as I can, please helpme out if I am messed again. I am really lacking a senior Wikipedian, from whom I can ask for help frequently.
- Relax! :) It's not a problem at all. Anything can be fixed on Wikipedia; it's flexible like that. I work a lot with future film articles, so I just noticed that you created that one. (I just created Ninja Assassin and Knowing (film) myself recently.) If you need help making your way around Wikipedia, I'd be happy to do that. What are you looking to do? I'm putting your user talk page on my watchlist, so you can respond here, and I'll see your message. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 16:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think I have been made that up. Thanks for your heartily guidance.
- I am actually interested about creating Upcoming Games/Movies/Musics Articles & editing & patrolling science/tech topics & everything else that makes my brain HEAVIER :P
- Hello, can you please help me out ? I am having copyright problems with this picture I hav uploaded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fort_Minor.jpg & you will like to have this too... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_images/2008_May_21
Possibly unfree Image:Fort Minor.jpg
editAn image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Fort Minor.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Replaceable fair use Image:Jake Gyllenhaal.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Jake Gyllenhaal.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Polly (Parrot) 22:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
The correct spelling of his surname is Gyllenhall, and at Jake Gyllenhall we have a fantastic article, fully referenced, wonderfully formatted and it's even a Wikipedia featured article. Why do you feel the need to not only create a duplicate at the mis-spelling of his name, but to revert my redirect when I try to point you in the right direction? -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:43, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for the mistake, Its completely unintentional. If you had point me out the Spelling mistake before, I won't remove the redirection. But when it happens, I have been miss Redirected too many times by some vandals, to their mock pages, I thought it as one of 'em again.
RE: Pics
editWell, what are you offering? And which specific pics do you want? I don't keep 'em all in one folder, so I'd have to do some searching. Jay (talk) 01:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Even if it is a HDTV screenshot, there is still a copyright belonging to the producers of the film or television show or wherever it came form. Where exactly did the image come from? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:43, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- It was taken from a news channel, I won't name it. I took the Screenshot from there when watching that news about his trip to somewhere.
- Even then, the news show still owns the copyright. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Umm... how come ? They might have copyright on the video, not on the screen shot, eventually which have been thoroughly edited by me. And when it comes, it didn't come with any copyright with that... I am a bit new though, in this matter...
- Well, Please help me out to understand, the whole lot of images in mediawiki comes with PROPER license ??? Each & Every Images were been asked how they came from ? & if they were, then please help me by telling that.. what excuse made them AUTHENTICATED ?
- It's called a derivative work and so the copyright still applies downward. The problem is not that it is a screenshot. The problem is you are trying to use a screenshot to show an image of living person for illustrative purposes, which is directly against unacceptable use # 12: a picture of a person still alive, where a new free picture is possible as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible). In other words, since anyone could go out and take a picture of Gyllenhaal and give it to Wikipedia with a free license, it is inappropriate to use a copyrighted image instead. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 00:49, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
RE: Prince of Persia Prodigy
editMaybe you could put it in external links but so far, I don't see anything on that website confirming the game's name, therefore I don't think it should be a reference, unless there's a specific page, if there is, please, point me there... I'm curious. Lol Dude527 (talk) 20:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Still, nothing solid as a reference, and, as I said, post it in the "External Links" section (I will myself). Find me a document clearly stating that Ubisoft announced it's name please, and we can post that as a reference. Dude527 (talk) 21:00, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: post on my talk page
editDo you mean what to do if the vandal already has a final warning? The answer to that is report them on WP:AIV. If you meant something else, please ask. Cheers! J.delanoygabsadds 13:21, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Vandal
editWhy are you considering me a vandal? I have done nothing but make sure that page fits well. This is no personal crusade, but instead of taking up that friendly veneer on me and then turning your back and trying to report me, I wish you would have warned me first. I am not vandalizing anything, I don't see how you see that I am. I am not a vandal. Just an editor. Dude527 (talk) 21:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for confirming that. I saw your posts on J.delanoy's page and yeah. All I'm trying to do is contribute to the article the way I know how to, which is keeping it small, only with necessary information, and providing references for the rest of it. And, yes, I know the 3RR rule. Dude527 (talk) 21:55, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
re: Vandal report
editLooks like he already got blocked. If you see someone do that in the future, warn them using an appropriate template from WP:UTM. If the vandal already has a final warning, report them to WP:AIV. J.delanoygabsadds 23:06, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Prince of Persia (2008) Image Deletion
editPrince of Persia (2008) Hello. Why exactly did you replaced a free screenshot that I have provided with copyrighted artwork? I'm afraid that it's against Wikipedia guidelines, which say that if there's a free alternative to a copyrighted image, you should use a free image and as far as I'm concerned "a screenshot of software" is not an artwork. Could you revert the changes back, please? wlodi (talk) 16:05, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
I mean the artwork, here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PopprodigyElika.jpg . I wasn't really precise with saying that it's "free", but as the Ubisoft-screenshot license says, you can use it for any purpose, while you can't do that with a copyrighted artwork, I guess. Here's the full license tag: {{Ubisoft-screenshot}} As for the Prince image, I think that the image used on the website now will do fine, I think it was released to show the new Prince in game. wlodi (talk) 16:26, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
