editThe overall mission of Red Earth is to promote the rich traditions of American Indian arts and cultures through education, a premier festival, a museum and fine art markets.
History
editRed Earth, Inc. began in 1978 with the establishment of the Center of the American Indian, a museum dedicated to showcasing Native American arts. In 1987, a group of influential community and tribal leaders founded the Red Earth American Indian Cultural Festival to showcase Native American dance and art. The two groups merged in 1992 to create Red Earth.
Festivals
editThe award winning festival features American Indian artists and dancers from through North America who celebrate the richness and diversity of their heritage with the world. During the Red Earth Festival Oklahoma City is the center of Native American art and culture in America.
