Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Recruitment Centre/FAQ
Generaledit1. What is the Recruitment Centre? The Recruitment Centre is a place designed to teach users how to review good article nominations through one-on-one mentorship. If you have never reviewed a good article nomination because you are nervous to do so or simply want to learn how to, click on the Recruitee Central tab above! On the other hand, if you want to teach other users how to review nominations, click on the Recruiter Central tab above. 2. Can I be a recruiter or recruitee if I am not a registered Wikipedia user? No, as only registered users are allowed to review articles, letting non-registered users participate in this program would be pointless (not beneficial). If you are not registered but want to participate, you must first create an account. 3. Why was a recruitment closed by a user who is not the recruiter or recruitee? The likely cause was that no progression has been made in over 3 months. At 3 months, it's assumed that the recruitee or recruiter no longer have any interest in the program. Recruitersedit1. Why do I have to have 15 independent reviews before I can become a recruiter? The main goal of this program is to bring in users who have never reviewed a good article nomination and are interested in wanting to learn how to. We want experienced reviewers to be our "teachers" and not someone who has also never been part of the reviewing process before. By completing 15 independent reviews, it shows that you have the knowledge to teach someone else, know what to do and what not to do, and be a good role model. To find an approximate number of reviews you have completed, click here. 2. Why should I only recruit a maximum of two recruitees? This limit has been suggested as it will allow you to concentrate more on a single recruitment rather than having several. The more recruitments you have going on at once, the lower the quality each one becomes; however, if you believe that you can keep the quality of the recruitments high, you can recruit more than two recruitees at a time. 3. Do I have to accept a recruitee's request for me to recruit them? No, but we strongly encourage it. By declining, there's always the risk that the recruitee may take it the wrong way. Yes, we understand there are cases where you have to decline (and that's perfectly fine) but the main idea is to not do it often. 4. Why do I need to tell my recruitee that they should pick a nomination from a nominator on the Recruitment Centre nomination list? The main reason behind this is because some nominators may not feel comfortable having an "inexperienced" user reviewing their nomination. There has already been a case where a recruitee was "scared" by the nominator after not choosing a nomination from the Recruitment Centre list and ended up leaving the recruitment. For this reason, by choosing a nominator from the list, the nominator is fine with a recruitee reviewing their nomination and minimize any issues the nominator may have. Note that this is strongly suggested but not mandatory. 5. Why did my name get removed from the list of recruiters? Your name was likely removed because you did not recruit at least one recruitee within a 9-month time span. If you have been inactive with the Recruitment Centre for most of the year, there is no point in having your name in the list. You can always re-add your name whenever you want. If your name was removed even though you did recruit someone within 9 months, please go the list of recruiters page history and contact the user who removed your name. Recruiteesedit1. How do I get recruited? To get recruited, contact any recruiter (by leaving a message on their talk page) who's status is "Available". They will then accept or decline your request and provide further instructions (if they decide to recruit you). If all our recruiters' statuses are "Not Available", place your name on the waiting list found here and follow the instructions there. 2. All recruiters have their status as "Not Available". What do I do? If all our recruiters are busy, add your name to the "Waiting List" which can be found here. More information about what to do can be found there. 3. I've already been recruited once. Can I ask to be recruited again? Yes. You can be recruited more than once. However, please note that you should really only be recruited once as you are supposed to know how to review a nomination by the time you "graduate" the first time. Still, if you think you need to be recruited again, it is fine to do so. 4. I've already been recruited at least one time. Can I become a recruiter? Yes. As long as you meet these criteria, you are all set to go. Also, make sure to read everything on the Recruiter Central page. 5. I completed the full recruitment process but did not receive a barnstar. What do I do? Please contact your recruiter to receive the barnstar. 6. I was recruited but did not fully complete recruitment. I never got a barnstar; what do I do? Only recruitees that complete the full recruitment process will receive a barnstar. |
