Biography

edit

Everyone has had to write an official biography at some point or another. Here's mine... Ellin Beltz (1956 - living) is an American writer. Her latest book Frogs: Inside Their Remarkable World was published in hardcover September 2005, and in paperback September 2009, by Firefly Books in Toronto, Canada. Named for her godmother, Ellin Mackay Berlin, she had an "exotic" childhood and now lives in Ferndale, California after Chicago, New York and several other places. Since 1986, Ellin has researched the meaning of the scientific names of the reptiles and amphibians of North America, including the biographies of hundreds of people honored in the nomenclature and published it on her personal website: *The Names of Reptiles and Amphibians Explained. Many of these biographies have been widely copied on the web, many have made their way into Wikipedia over the years. Retired from university and college teaching of geology, biology and geography, she continues research and contribution to Wikipedia.
