The Guardians
editThe Guardians are all-knowing beings in Iwan Jooste’s debut fantasy novel, Isobel Stellar and the Ubuntu Song. They are the protectors and safe keepers of peace, residing at the Tower of Truths. To most Cathanians, the Guardians are only myths and legends, rarely, if ever, seen.
In the novel, the Guardians are somehow corrupted to find Empress Sophea guilty of murdering her husband, Emperor Marcus, and subsequently appoint Baroness Famika as the new ruler of Cathania.
