Rsnapshot is a backup utility used to produce incremental snapshots of a filesystem. According to the project website it is "is quite possible to set up in just a few minutes", indicating that one of the project goals is to enable backup solutions to be quickly configured and deployed.
A combination of rsync and hard links are used by rsnapshot internally to minimize data transfer and perform simple data deduplication between snapshots. It is also expected that cron will be used to periodically run rsnapshot instances to achieve
