Blanchard Machinery Company is an American heavy equipment dealer headquartered in West Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1982, the company is the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for the state of South Carolina.[1]
The company provides equipment, power systems, and related services to industries including construction, mining, agriculture, and energy.[2]
History
[edit]Blanchard Machinery Company was founded in 1982 by G. Robert Blanchard. The company serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer in South Carolina.[1]
Joe Blanchard later served as president and oversaw expansion of the company’s operations.[3]
Following his death in 2022, leadership transitioned to the fourth generation of the Blanchard family.[3]
Operations
[edit]Blanchard Machinery distributes and services heavy equipment and power systems across South Carolina. Its operations support infrastructure, construction, and industrial activity in the region.[2]
Expansion
[edit]In 2023, Blanchard Machinery announced plans to expand operations in Calhoun County, South Carolina, including development of a new facility at Sandy Run Industrial Park.[4]
The project represented an investment of approximately $46 million and was expected to create jobs and expand the company’s service capacity.[2]
In 2025, construction began on a large repair and service facility near Columbia intended to support operations statewide.[5]
