Ahmed Hussain Talpur (March 3, 1951 - December 12, 2005), commonly known as Ahmed Talpur, was born on March 3, 1951, in the village of Talpur Wada in the historical district of Kot Diji, Khairpur Mir’s, Sindh. He was a renowned poet, writer, and journalist and represented the district of Khairpur Mir’s in Sindh for the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP). Ahmed Talpur contributed significantly to literature, writing across various genres, including both prose and poetry.

His poetry was regularly published in monthly literary magazines like Suhni Literary Magazine, quarterly Mehran, and many others. Over time, his essays, articles, and short stories were published in various periodicals and newspapers. Additionally, he wrote about issues such as Karo Kari (honor killings) and sexual violence and abuse of women and children in Khairpur Mir’s, Sindh, in the HRCP’s magazine Sahil. He also worked as a volunteer for the commission’s initiatives and served as a representative for the daily newspaper Ibrat.

Talpur’s literary works include a poetry collection titled(ويندا لوهہ لهي) and a historical book (سنڌ تي عربن جي ڪاهہ) (The Arab Invasions of Sindh).

Ahmed Talpur, an eminent writer, journalist, and human rights activist, passed away on December 12, 2005 (9th Zul-Qaadah 1426 AH), at the age of 56 in a hospital in Karachi.
