Karpaz Gate Marina in Northern Cyprus is due to open in the Karpaz Peninsula of Northern Cyprus in May 2011.

It’s based in the eastern Mediterranean

It will be the first luxury yacht marina to open in Northern Cyprus and will accommodate boats up to 65m in length. It will offer berths for 300 yachts, 16 of these superyachts.

The dry dock area can be used for both maintenance and storage. All vessels based at, or visiting, the marina will have access to the 18,000sqm facility for refit and repairs. The dry docks at KGM will be the biggest in the eastern Mediterranean. A 300 tonne crane will also be available. This crane is known to be the biggest in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and bigger than most on the Turkish coast.

KGM is project managed by Sea Alliance Group Ltd, a maritime services operation.

Development work on the breakwater areas has been progressing and as of July 2010 almost 500m, out of a total of 540m, of the main breakwater is complete and the secondary breakwater is also moving along. These areas will ensure a sheltered environment for yachts needing either a home port or visiting berth in the eastern Mediterranean.

The KGM development is also planning a lively commercial promenade with shops, restaurants, diving club, bars, luxurious hotels, spa and a casino.
