Arlene Russo is a Glasgow-based author and journalist. She is the founder and current editor of Bite Me Magazine [1], the UK's only magazine specialising in vampires.
In October 2005 her début Vampire Nation was published through John Blake Publishing and then by Llewellyn Worldwide (formerly Llwewllen Publications) in September 2008. In March 2010 she released her second book about vampires, entitled The Real Twilight, which was again published by Blake Publishing.
Widely regarded as a specialist in the subject of vampirism and other areas of supernatural interest she is often consulted by the media on such topics and in the past has written exclusives for news publications as diverse as The Sun and The Sunday Times. [1]
In 2008 she received the Special Commendation in the Scottish Magazine Awards from the Periodical Publishers Association.[2]
She is a member of the Society of Authors and of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
