The Battle of Duan Valley (also known as the Battle of Duangu) was seventh invasion (fought 256) launched by Jiang Wei during the Three Kingdoms Era of China.
Background
editA year before the battle, Jiang Wei proposed a decree to the Shu Han court request troops to invade Wei once again, being confident that the Northern Tribes would become an advantage for Shu. [1] But Fei Yi rejected Jiang Wei's plot without consulting the Shu consensus, giving him a limited number of troops. Jiang Wei struck Tao River, quickly seizing a victory. Not long after this success, Deng Ai pushed him back. A year later, Jiang Wei asked Hu Ji to attack Qingshan with him, and Hu Ji accepted. Though Hu Ji never arrived and broke his promise.
