Option 2
editSample rows are the first four alphabetically in big list, and other semi-complicated ones.
Changes made:
- field "Location" gets street address (possibly) city, state or province, nation
- "Origin" -> "Nation" and show nations which built, operated, or preserved ship, or had other significant association
- "Type" -> "Function"
- Show multiple names of ship when renamed significantly
- When multiple nations show, first may be the ship's builder and/or it may be first operator of ship.
- Note just "Museum" is not enough to identify location, as museums have multiple locations or have ships sailing or berthed remotely, besides the fact that coordinates (very specific locations) differ for two ships at same museum building.

Discussion
editI think we can agree on three columns "Ship", "Launched", and "Function. These are the basics needed for describing the ship included on the list, its the location and how to present it which is the sticking point. This is just thinking out loud, I will respond more in a bit. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 20:21, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
