Who am I?
editI am Miri, the wife of a very good man who I love and adore, and the mother of a truly beautiful daughter who makes me proud.
You may ask me, "Don’t you have any sense of identity outside your roles with other people, Miri?"
"No, not really," I would answer. I am not designed to be a self alone in the universe. I am completely designed to interact with others. I have eyes, ears, a mouth (and typing fingers) to see, listen to, and communicate with others. I have breasts to nourish another generation, and my whole body to share intimately with someone special to me. Even the biblical commandments are all about my role with others, how to relate to God and other people. How could I even be me if there was only me? My true essence is realized through interpersonal engagement, and so I am only who I am because there is a you to help define me.
Tidbits about me
editHopefully these won't be used to pigeonhole me : )
- According to the Jungian Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I am an INFJ, what Kiersey calls a Counselor Idealist. I first took this test over a decade ago at my workplace, and have since had other opportunitites to take it again, always coming out the same. Here is an online pay version of the test as well as a free version.
- According to the Political Compass, I am a slightly-fiscally-to-the-right libertarian (0.38 on the Economic left/right scale and -2.62 on the Social libertarian/authoritarian scale).
