American City Diner was a diner located on Connecticut Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.'s Chevy Chase neighborhood. Founded in 1988, American City Diner closed in 2018 after the death of its owner, Jeffrey Gildenhorn. The space was created to replicate the authentic "diner experience" for the neighborhood, and was one of the first constructions of its kind in decades.
