The Greatest Show on Turf, also known as the GSOT, is a superb intramural team currently playing in the Saturday 3-5 Carefree league. Pete Ruocco is the captain of the squad for this season. GSOT, as the name is commonly abbreviated, featured two Division 1-A football players last season en route to the regular season championship. Unfortunately, the playoffs were scheduled for a Sunday, when all members were watching that week's Buffalo Bills game.
This season, the team features several new members as it tries to re-capture the regular season crown. The GSOT are so awesome.

Game Details
editBelow are the game summaries for each game of the 2007 intramural season, in chronological order.
Game summary - GSOT vs. Pi Lam
edit1st half: Pi Lam entered the game confident in their chances of victory, but any confidence they had was erased on the first play. Starting from their own 14, The Greatest Show on Turf's QB Matt Komendat hit WR Pete Ruocco for a 60 yard gain, which they converted into a TD soon later. After a solid defensive stand, the GSOT again drove down the field, with Komendat scrambling for a 2nd TD to make the score 14-0 early on. The teams went back and forth from then on, but Pi Lam managed a Don Smith touchdown right before the break to halve the GSOT lead.
2nd half: The GSOT started a bit shaky as Pi Lam exuded confidence. The Pi Lam offense marched down the field for a score and a tie game, and soon got the ball back with the chance to take the lead. However, fierce pressure from John Iuranich and Vince Kostovich forced an errant pass into the arms of Andy Pappano, who took the INT back for a touchdown and a 20-14 lead. On their next drive, the Pi Lam offense responded with a huge deflection TD. They notched the PAT, to take their first lead, 21-20. However, the lead was short lived. After getting the ball at nearly midfield, the GSOT offense responded on the most important drive of the game. QB Komendat found WR Pappano streaking down the left sideline, and hit him in stride for a 43-yard score and a 26-21 lead. With less than two minutes left, the Pi Lam offense got the ball back for one more try. However, Pappano read the play and broke on the pass, intercepting the ball for his second pick-six of the afternoon, which crushed any chance of a comeback. 32-21 was the final score.
