Arthur John Fludyer (1844-1922) was the last of the Fludyer baronets. He and his brothers had distinguished military careers.
Early life
editArthur John Fludyer was the sixth child and third son of the Rev Sir John Henry Fludyer.His three eldest siblings had died of scarlet fever in 1842, so he was brought up as the third in a family of four children. He was educated at Westminster School, where his family had sent their sons since the first baronet and his brother.
Marriage and family
editIn 1876 he married his cousin Augusta Borough, daughter of his mother's brother Sir Edward Borough. The couple had no children. In the Birthday Honours of ... Augusta was awarded MBE for her work with the Northamotonshire Red Cross.
Military career
editthen joined the Northamptonshire Regiment, becoming Major and Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel.
