Deletion of Sales attitude persevarance

edit

Why have you deleted attitude persevarance???? It has a refrenced definition of a well known term in psychology? What's the problem. Ifthe article is short than you have to help expanding it instead killing a newborn stub. At least have third paty opinion.

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Attitude perseverance. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Borisu 18:46, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Sales Tax Management Services

edit

Hello! Can you please explain to me why you are labeling this as SPAM? Ask any certified public accountant (CPA) about this information. There is no bias or blatant advertising. 3 companies are mentioned because they are providers of STMS. STMS is a term that is taking foot much like SaaS (software as a service) did 5 years ago. I can provide more references if need be. Please let me know since you deleted it without comment. Thanks for your feedback. I truly believe in this information and that it is valuable to the Accounting and Business professionals.

Jaranda,

Please comment on your reasoning for deleting Sales Tax Management Services. I would hate to believe the deletion was out of ignorance but unless you can provide me with your logic it makes it difficult for users to contribute to Wikipedia and comment on Accounting practices.

Thank you.

GAC backlog elimination drive

edit

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 23:58, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

WORLD INDOOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE

edit

Wikipedia Editor:

My name is Dan Ryan and I am Director of Communications for the World Indoor Football League.

As a daily internet user, I’ve been pleased with the entries for our league and teams on wikipedia. Imagine my concern when my league and teams have been singled out for deletion and not those of similar league, especially with the criteria listed.

1) Only four teams. Yes, this was of concern to the entire league, but this was a business decision. The sport of indoor football has been wrought with teams starting the season and not finishing. We started with four, and finished with four this season. 2) Pay structure. Our pay structure is similar to other leagues listed on wikipedia and slightly better than that of af2 – the arena football league’s development system. 3) The age-old debate about whether or not we are professional or semi-professional. We take pride in that many of our players are now being looked at by NFL, CFL and arena football teams, and our league has provided an opportunity to develop and showcase their skills.

I appreciate this opportunity to discus our league with you and appreciate the listings as they currently stand. My hope is that this deletion discussion is quickly resolved.

Feel free to visit our web site at www.wifl.us or e-mail me at dryan@wifl.us for further assistance.

Dan Ryan Director of Communications

P.S. – Jaranda, as an FIU student, you might appreciate that the Golden Panthers produced one of our league all-stars, Cory McKinney of Daytona Beach.

1-800_NEW_FUNK deletion

edit

Hello Jaranda

First of all I'd like to apologize because English isn't my native language, so probably this text can be full of mistakes.

I'm writing concerning 1-800_NEW_FUNK entry in English Wikipedia. I've seen that you deleted it.

That page kept information about a musical album by Prince_(artist), like many other pages linked from Prince_discography (The_Gold_Experience, Musicology_(album), etc).

I don't know the reason for the deletion, but I think that page could be re-activated to improve it with aditional information about the album.

--El Pantera 20:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Because the article was only a track listing, didn't name the artist or anything. You can recreate the article with more information. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 20:36, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

edit

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:25, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Monday Night Warriors deletion -- why?

edit

Hello, why was my page on the San Francisco group "Monday Night Warriors" deleted? I would greatly appreciate a response. It is a legitimate group as any San Franciscan native knows. Gjtorikian 23:20, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

See [1] as it's a non-notable group. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 23:22, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

How can I further "assert the importance or significance of [the] subject"? I'm genuinely curious. The group has been in existence for some time. Is chronology not a big factor, or do I need to find group members of note (i.e., The Inklings would not be around of it did not consist of published fantasy writers). Thanks, Gjtorikian 23:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Add multiple, non trivial sources to claim notabilty. See WP:N, WP:V and WP:RS. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 23:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

edit

Hi, you have now deleted my article on Hereke carpets twice, so I know it is not an accident. Can you please tell me what was wrong with the article? Thanks. Rekk 23:24, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

It claims no reason why that type of carpet is notable, and it didn't give much information about that. If the article is expanded more and with Reliable sources, an article could be made on that. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 23:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Abuse

edit

You deleted an article within minutes of my creating it (twice in a row, once while creating and then after I re-saved my additional edits!), while I was still researching/editing, without any reason or warning. I notice going through these comments that you tend to get a bit overzealous with your speedy deletes. My article was on municipal services, and thus potentially notable, wikipedia guidelines are that you give users the benefit of the doubt. Your behaviour is not in the spirit of wikipedia community, please be more respectful of others contributions. This is not your personal playground. --RandomStuff 23:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

A water treatment plant is non-notable, especially if it only gave an address and it's corriations see WP:CSD A7 and A1. I'm not abusing anything. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 23:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

You're a little quick on the trigger, cowboy. I suppose I can forgive you because of your youth and inexperience in life. The idea of a community-driven website is to encourage contribution, and speedy-delete was not meant for removing articles minutes after they were posted, re-read wikipedia guidelines. I put information into already-overcrowded Miami-Dade article for now. For future reference, propper ettiquite would be to post the issues that you feel make the article worthy of deletion and allow creator to address if possible --RandomStuff 23:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
read your comment on my complaint how you are not abusing, perhaps you are just over-enthusiastic. please give users at least an hour before (mis)using speedy-delete, many people work on articles in pieces as time permits. It is possible that what at first glance looks to you like it would not make a notable article may actually be interesting if you do not delete while people are still in the process of contributing/fixing their contributions. --RandomStuff 00:01, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

If he waited an hour then it wouldn't really be a speedy delete, now would it? Anyway, if the little bit of article you have written thus far doesn't assert notability, don't bother posting it yet. Compose it on your own computer and only upload the first revision once it stands on its own. Otherwise you're just going to keep having your stuff deleted. It's just not Jaranda doing this, it's all new article patrollers. --Cyde Weys 00:11, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Why was Adrian & the Mysterious D deleted?

edit

I created an entry about DJs Adrian & the Mysterious D, which received a speedy delete from you. Why is that?

They are the creators of the international mashup event, Bootie (club night), and have received national and international attention, with monthly parties in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Paris. Numerous national press articles have featured them (and these were documented on the Wikipedia entry) to ensure "notability."

The article contained facts, not opinions, and adhered to all Wikipedia guidelines.

Other lesser-known and less-accomplished mashup artists and DJs have Wikipedia pages, yet they don't. Adrian & the Mysterious D should have a page, as they are two of the most notable producers within this particular musical genre.

Deletion of Finchampstead Baptist Church Article

edit

Hi, I am confused as to why you deleted this article giving the reason that it was 'promoting the church'.

I specifically changed sentences from "We offer....or....You are welcome..." to "It offers...or...There are groups..." to try to take it away from a promotional site to a factual account of what goes on.

I was also going to update the article on the history of the church maybe with some photos. I believe this is relevant material that could be of interest to anyone researching the church.

I can understand if that information about the 'Groups and Activities' or the church may be considered promotional, so i am happy not to include that in the article, but i think an introduction to the article and a history section are relevant content for Wikipedia.

Please get back to me soon, or i will start a review of the deleted page.

Many thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dave valler (talkcontribs) 10:50, July 12, 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Filmmaker James Myer

edit

I'm curious why you deleted James Myer from the database? His documentary, Multiple Personality: Reality and Illusion, chronicles the life of Chris Costner-Sizemore, the first woman diagnosed with MPD. (This very notable and well known woman was also portrayed by Joanne Woodward in The Three Faces of Eve, for which Ms. Woodward won an Oscar). Among other works, his award winning The American Field Trip Series has been in world-wide distribution for over 12 years. All of this was verifiable on IMDB or otherwise listed and linked on Wikipedia. Shouldn't the creator of this well noted work have a place along side his creations? I respectfully ask that you please reconsider.

Thank you. Jazzzzy

Jorge, I was wondering how it was that you came to the understanding that this article should be a delete? Only 4 persons thought it should be deleted and the other 7 thought it should be merged or kept. I was just curious how you came to that conclusion. I am not questioning if the conclusion is a good one, I just wanted to know how you came to that conclusion, so that I will know in the future. Thanks. Callelinea 22:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Several of the keep votes were because it was unique and that isn't a reason to keep, while there was no point in merging a University of Maryland club to the parent article because it will be too long, and bias against that one club. Wikipedia isn't a club directory. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 19:41, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I have to disagree with you on the outcome of the deletion process for the Daxflame article. There was no consensus. (I'm not a "single purpose account"!) There wasn't even a valid reason to delete it, except "unencyclopedic" and "pointless" (point of view!). Which makes no sense and certainly not a valid argument. (see WP:UGH and WP:UNENCYC). In particular, the first WP:CHICOTW WP:FAC is under way with the Chicago Board of Trade Building. I also want to get Chris Young (pitcher) through WP:FAC and clean up All-Star Final Vote for WP:FLC before running. I had thought I would be ready this month, but it may be another month before I will be ready. I will be start preparing my candidacy statement however.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 13:40, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

The deletion log for Spite (band) was lacking in any content except that you deleted it. I can't even find the talk page for the article. None of my concerns were addresssed and the reason for deletion was never specified.--Libertyguy 22:11, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Spite (band) Deletion

edit

The deletion log for Spite (band) was lacking in any content except that you deleted it. I can't even find the talk page for the article. None of my concerns were addresssed and the reason for deletion was never specified.--Libertyguy 23:11, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I have researched Wikipedia deletion policy, since my last post on this page, and came accross the following example of vandalism: "Abuse of tags Bad-faith placing of 'afd', 'delete', 'sprotected', or other tags on pages that do not meet such criteria. This includes removal of long-standing 'policy' and related tags without forming consensus on such a change first."

The article Spite (band) had a deletion tag placed there with the code: A7. I placed a 'hangon' tag there and asked for clarification in the discussion section. I looked up 'A7' and found this definition: "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If controversial, or if there has been a previous deletion discussion that resulted in the article being kept, the article should be listed at Articles for deletion instead."

While my initial language may not have asserted the importance of this band in a satisfactory manner, I quickly improved this article so the requirement was met. I identified this improvement on the talk page.

At such point, it was inappropriate to delete based on A7, since the article asserted said importance. Therefore, this looks like "Abuse of tags."--Libertyguy 21:41, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
