Molly Nilsson (born December 14, 1984 , Stockholm , Sweden ) is a singer-songwriter , producer, keyboardist and synth pop music artist. Native of Sweden, currently resides in Berlin , Germany. Produces her music, video clips and organizes her tours herself, in addition to managing her own label Dark Skies Association.

She was born on December 14, 1984 in Stockholm, Sweden. At 19 years old She moved to Berlin, for the same reason that many artists and musicians:

Berlin is a good place to experience if you're an artist ... Had I stayed in Stockholm, I would not be making music in the first place.[1]

Intending to be an artist, she started making music in 2007.[1] She founded her own label called Dark Skies Association, based on a name of an NGO that deals with the problem of light pollution, however Nilsson has said she likes the lights of the city.[2]

In 2008 She released her first album These Things Take Time, of which 500 copies were made.[3] Her first recordings were recorded by herself at home, she also printed their covers and was responsible for marketing her albums. Currently Nilsson is responsible for writing, producing music and video clips, as well as organize her own tours in Europe, and some South American countries like Peru and Argentina.

She has published six albums through her label Dark Skies Association. In 2011 indie pop artist John Maus sang her song Hey Moon! in one of his albums[4], giving Nilsson a boost of popularity.

In 2013 she teamed up with Night School Records with whom she released the singles Sex, Sólo Paraíso – The Summer Songs EP and the albums The Travels, Zenith and a reissue of These Things Take Time as a double album on vinyl.

During 2015 Nilsson started recording her sixth album. When she had finished recording it, she took a two-month break and came back to hear it, after making a critical review she ended up scrapping the finished version. Instead, her broad ' ' Zenith , her most melodic album was produce. It was edited by Dark Skies Association in partnership with Night School in 2015, [3] and received very favorable reviews from the music press.

In January 2016 she said in an interview to be working on editing a new EP and possibly record an album sung in Spanish. [5]
