Canadian Political Biography Updates.

Hello,

I have been a novice Wikipedia user since 2018. Retired non-partisan political volunteer who is experienced in writing biographies for politicians in Canada across all party's. My personal mandate is to share my skills here by ensuring accurate, holistic and objective evidence based updates of living persons and events.

Important Disclaimer

I am still a novice user so please be patient if I make a mistake and try to walk me through the talk function to communicate with you.

I am unpaid and do not work for any politician. If I am advocating for a change, it is because I am trying to improve the quality of the biography and I have put a lot of time into ensuring it is sourced.

I now seek copyright consent for images and original biographies to avoid issues. If I do this incorrectly please guide me to rectify this.

Profile Picture

Ensuring that photographs are uploaded in good faith and preferably reflective of the approved official portrait taken of that political figure from their respective governing body website. Permission will be obtained in order to avoid any inadvertent copyright infringement of official photographs.

Biography

Ensuring that biographical information are well cited and every effort is made to primarily obtain information directly from content published by the public figure in question to prevent the libellous information from being spread.

Create Headings

I create headings to highlight

1) Education

2) Background prior to politics

- Self-published information about their biography or journey to politics

- Notable career paths

3) Change in Roles

4) When there is controversy, I provide balanced context.

Defamatory Statements

I will remove defamatory or libellous dialogue of a living person. Will be redrafted (if possible) to capture the entire situation. Allegations without proof or citing biased opinion articles are also removed.

Poor Citations

If the content does not reflect the citation, they will either be removed or redrafted to reflect referenced artifact if it is a valid one. If citations do not exist, they will be flagged and I will investigate to find any reputable citations that reflect the content created.
