- I was born and raised, for much of my youth, a Navy brat
- I have lived in Rota, Spain and been to Tangier, Morocco in Africa
- I now live in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of the United States
- I have been to 30 of the United States and lived in five of them
- I began playing football (soccer) when living in Spain at age seven
- I still play football, and have played at the collegiate level
- I will, and always will, call "soccer" football
- I support Manchester United of the English Premier League
- I also support the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer
- I support the Miami Dolphins and the Seattle Seahawks of the N.F.L.

- I was an English major before joining the Navy
- I once aspired to be a high school English teacher
- I now want to coach football at the high school, college, or professional level
