About

edit

I have been on Wikipedia for a very long time but under a different account. This account used to be my alt, but after a long wikibreak spanning two years, I decided to start over with a fresh start under a new name. I still plan to do the same things I did on the old account (heavy Recent Changes Patrolling, contribution to editing, etc with the intent of attempting to gaining multiple usergroups to support the community better), but this time doing it much more actively.

Enlist in the CVU

edit

Enlist in the Counter-Vandalism Unit today to help keep Wikipedia safe. Here at the CVU we welcome all to join us. No matter how little your contribution to our vandalism fighting team is, whether it's minutes or hours a day, we appreciate you.

DEFCON Metre

edit

To the right is the CVU's WikiDEFCON project, which is based off of RPM of vandalism with data collected by EnterpriseyBot. There are 5 levels of DEFCON, and recently we have been sitting higher and higher on the DEFCON chart with RPM staying steadily above 6 on most days, even higher during peak vandalism hours. With this information, it is easy to tell that we need as many people dedicated to fighting vandalism as possible.

What classifies as vandalism?

edit

If you see something that looks obviously stupid, revert it at the most prompt moment. Sometimes, people will look deeper into fighting vandalism with things staged as actual content, but is actually vandalism. Satire articles can also be vandalism. Use the CVU's education resources to learn more about vandalism.

How can I fight vandalism?

edit

Fight vandalism at Special:RecentChanges by using the settings to sort by things "Likely Bad Faith" or "Likely Have Problems" if you believe you are more skilled, or use the highest accuracy setting "Very Likely..." if you wish for an easier task. This is the old school way of fighting vandalism. You can also go to beta projects in your Wikipedia settings to turn on Twinkle, an anti-vandalism tool that will make your vandalism fighting journey much easier. Twinkle allows for easier reverts, talk page templates (for warnings, welcomes, etc) and will even make aspiring administrators' tasks easier with templates for page Speedy Deletion as well. I highly recommend using Twinkle regardless of if you join our war on vandalism.
