Hi editors.
I joined Wikipedia out of curiosity. A lot of people deemed this platform to be unreliable, and I always wondered if this is unreliable, how come it is still being so widely used for information. It is a go-to resource for a quick understanding about a particular subject. I have been studying Wikipedia's editing trends and guides for sometime now and have also learned writing as per the Manual of Style. Even though I am new here, I find myself comfortable making good edits and even creating pages.
However, I made a few mistakes on my end which led me to being labelled as someone being paid or compensated for my work here.
Mistake 01: I chose the wrong username. I initially started editing under the name WikiProCreate which led me to be tagged for UPE. This was an honest mistake and I did not know a username could lead to so much trouble. This is why I changed my username.
Mistake 02: I created articles for personalities that, as per my research, were noteworthy. Because I had this username and wrote a Wikipedia page that was well-structured with in-line citations and included the citation needed tags where necessary, I got highlighted for COI.
I would like to declare that all my edits and page creations are unbiased and I am not, in anyway, being compensated for my work here. Regardless of how other editors see my contributions, I take full responsibility of my contributions and declare that all my edits are done with good will--to help widen Wikipedia's horizon further.
I, someday, hope to become an administrator too. Here's to hoping and dreams!
So, all editors are welcome to critique on my editing and help me build my profile through their invaluable feedback on my edits.
Thank you
xoxo
