I'm an academic librarian in the Midwestern United States. I use Wikipedia to teach Information literacy, with emphasis on the ACRL threshold concepts "Authority Is Constructed and Contextual" and "Information Creation as a Process." While I greatly value the decentralized production of knowledge on Wikipedia as well as earnest editing communities, I have found that actively engaging students in editing is one of the most effective tools for demonstrating the inequity of what information is considered valid and why.

My editing interests include Midwest regional history and activism, LGBTQIA+ issues, improving articles on Middle Eastern authors, and topics around immigration and the global refugee crisis. I am constantly learning new things and I'm all about resource sharing.
