Request reason:
Caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 144.121.128.138. This is a corporate IP address, as have been noted for the last 6 months prior to this block, but it does not provided access to retail customers or the public. I'm a bit shocked that it is claimed that an entire /16 subnet of 65,536 IP addresses are public web hosts. As per WP:RANGE "These should be reserved as an absolute last resort, especially very large rangeblocks." 144.121.128.138 (talk) 18:33, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
Accept reason:
Since DeltaQuad, the blocking administrator, has been invited to comment but has not done so in more than three and a half days, despite having made about a couple of dozen edits in that time, I assume that she has nothing to say, and since SQL's comments seem perfectly valid, I shall go ahead and unblock. - DeltaQuad - This range doesn't seem to have any of the hallmarks of being a webhost. Direct /24 resolution looks like a normal ISP. Proxycheck looks pretty normal, nothing in the CBL. It does appear that lightower is a CrownCastle property - but lightower doesn't appear to offer direct hosting, just fiber. I see pptp/1723 is open on this host, but that makes sense given the hostname. If you wouldn't mind taking another look at this range, I'd appreciate it. SQLQuery me! 03:58, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- @JamesBWatson: I apologize for that. I had told SQL to proceed as he saw fit as he has more knowledge than me, but that was on a third service not visible to anyone here. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:42, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
