Sockpuppet
An active IP account held by Brianwazere - 86.46.197.226 keeps returning after each block and resuming editing of Hollyoaks related articles. They have been reported and blocked twice, but they have returned once more to add unsourced information to articles.Rain the 1 22:42, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Lauren Branning
Hi, 5 Albert Square. A few minutes ago I just came across the Lauren Branning article again, and I realised the main photo image wasn't really updated . Lauren doesn't have the fringe anymore. Would it be possible to update the main photo image if that is alright. Thanks. --86.147.90.124 (talk) 09:57, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Scot!
Hey buddy, I wish to clarify a doubt! In case I've repeatedly vandalized Wikipedia articles and get a Final Warning message, for how long does the warning stay. I mean after how much time, in case I inadvertently vandalize again, will I be spared a ban and issued a fresh set of warnings. Kindly address. Thanks a lot! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.176.169.233 (talk) 21:05, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- It's usually about 24-48 hours, then the warning process would start from scratch again. Though if you repeatedly vandalise Wikipedia and show a pattern of abuse then it doesn't need to be 4 warnings that an editor would give you before reporting you. That's the English Wikipedia though, other Wikipedias may be different.--5 albert square (talk) 21:19, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
Sigh! I am relieved now! The wait for your reply seemed like eternity! Thanks a lot!!! And yes, your SineBot just taught me this ... --122.176.169.233 (talk) 21:22, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
The Juwel vandal is back under a different account name
Looks like User:Juwelz is trying to get around his block with the new account Khnkzgus and making the same vanity spam edits to the Juwel article. AgneCheese/Wine 13:17, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi 5 albert square! Hope your'e doing good :). I have opened a new sockpuppet investigation report of User:Juwelz on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Juwelz. I strongly believe that the 2nd account (User:Khnkzgus) is a definite sockpuppet of the other one. As you are the blocking administrator of that account i have informed you as i thought it would be a good idea. You are free to give more information and evidence for the case. Thanks! TheGeneralUser (talk) 17:58, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, blocked Khnkzgus as well as that account quacked too loudly. Not sure what Checkuser can do though as the other edits are all IPs. If you look at this sockpuppet you will see that they are usually very limited as to what they can do with IPs. Those two that were also editing the same page didn't even look to be coming from the same IP range. I've locked the page as well for a week, hopefully that will be enough to put them off. Let me know if you need any further help!--5 albert square (talk) 23:02, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Problem
An IP had made a legal threat on an article - [1]. However the information linked directly into an on-screen romance, casting material, production material. I have five interview with five publications all saying the same thing. I don't think it was made up.Rain the 1 22:46, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think it's made up either, it all looks perfectly referenced in the article to me. I also don't see how it's defamatory so I've warned the IP about making legal threats against Wikipedia and its editors. I'll also watch Sarah's article for the next few days to be on the safe side--5 albert square (talk) 23:00, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Bryan Kirkwood is NOT technically the introducer seeing as he had left after Letitia had began filming. Therefore, Lorraine Newman overseen all the paper work, and made her return happen, and it happened with her as the producer. So please change it to Lorraine Newman. Lauren. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Laurenlouiselawson (talk • contribs) 03:00, 15 August 2012 (UTC) --Laurenlouiselawson (talk) 03:02, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- How do you know? Work at EastEnders do you? The fact of the matter is that they announced she was returning while BK was in office. They do not announce such things until things are finalised. You have no proof that Newman signed anything. Whereas there are sources for BK being in charge of the series when they rehired her.Rain the 1 03:24, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- This reliable source amongst others say that it is Kirkwood who announced her return. Note the following: "EastEnders's executive producer Bryan Kirkwood said: "I'm thrilled that Letitia is coming back home to Albert Square where she belongs.
- "Sharon is a real favourite amongst EastEnders' fans and I for one can't wait until she arrives back in the summer."
- Note the date of the article, February 2012. Kirkwood didn't announce he was leaving until March time therefore it makes him the introducer. If you're still disputing this, please don't just change it to Lorraine Newman as the general consensus I think is that Kirkwood has re-introduced her. If you disagree then please open up a discussion on Sharon Watt's talk page.--5 albert square (talk) 21:14, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Kat and Alfie were announced as returning whilst Diederick Santer was still at office. It doesn't, well SHOULDN'T matter who's idea it was to bring back a character, it should be based on who's episode she came back in. New viewers of EastEnders would be confused as to who Bryan Kirkwood is, so because she came back after Bryan Kirkwoods name was removed from the credits, it makes her introducer Lorraine Newman! --Laurenlouiselawson (talk) 22:19, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- If you disagree, please take it up on the articles talk page so a proper consensus can be reached.--5 albert square (talk) 22:26, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

- Hi there, just saw you active on ARV and hence this request for help. Could you reign in on User talk:JetBlast#Use of poor English? deletion request
Hey 5 Alber Square,I need to you to do me a favor and delete a page I created. I created Saman Pourisa and then changed my mind. Since I can’t add any more information to it, I think it’s better to be deleted. Thanks.--Parira (talk) 19:04, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Parira
- Hello, if you wish I can move it to a userpage, say User:Parira/Saman Pourisa. You can then work on it in your own time and then move it back to Saman Pourisa when it's complete?
- Just a thought.
- Or would you like me to just delete it?--5 albert square (talk) 13:23, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
Hello and Thanks, if you move it to User:Parira/Saman Pourisa, then only me will be able to see (and edit) it? --Parira (talk) 12:14, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Parira
- No everyone would be able to see it, though that would only happen if they look for your user pages. What I'm suggesting is a bit like what I'm doing for Callum Stone at the minute. I want to improve the article, expand it, but I have 0 spare time at the minute (hence why I'm on here at 10pm!) so I've moved a version of it to User:5 albert square/Callum Stone to work on in my own time and and merge when necessary.
- Everyone would be able to edit it though if you wish I can lock it so no IPs can edit it.
- I'll move it into your userspace in the meantime, just in case someone deletes it or nominates it for deletion, let me know if you need any help or change your mind :)--5 albert square (talk) 21:15, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK, that's done, you might also like to read Wikipedia:So you made a userspace draft--5 albert square (talk) 21:29, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks again :) sorry to ask such a beginner question; isn’t there anything like “shift+delete in PC”? I mean to delete it completely from Wikipedia at the moment, gathering more information and recreating it later. --Parira (talk) 12:33, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Parira
- You have to be an admin to actually delete pages. You can request deletion but only an admin can actually delete it. I'm an admin, would you like me to delete User:Parira/Saman Pourisa?--5 albert square (talk) 21:18, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I do know that only an admin can delete a page, and that’s why I’m asking you about it :) BUT I’m not sure if an admin deletes a page, it will completely disappear or not. I mean if somebody opens that page, which of these messages will appear: “This Page has been deleted.” Or it will say “This Page doesn’t exist.” (Sorry to bother you with more questions)--Parira (talk) 09:52, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Parira
- If I delete the page someone tries to open it, it will say that I've deleted the page and give the reason as being user request within userspace :). Any contents that were on the page will not show.--5 albert square (talk) 21:12, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I am confused about this removal of a page into user space. More editors than the originator have edited it, though it is a very stubby article, and may not survive as it is. Nonetheless there is (barely) sufficient material for notability, and it ought to take its chance in the main namespace whether the originator has a copy in userspace or not. Other editors may wish to improve the stub article. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:20, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- The way the article is, it is unlikely to survive in mainspace. I moved it to userspace to give the user more time to work on it. You can still edit it whilst it's in userspace, it doesn't have to be just the page creator.--5 albert square (talk) 21:26, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- You mistake my question. I believe that our policies and guidelines do not agree to deletion at user request once others have contributed. I am unconcerned that it is in userspace, but believe it must be restored to the main namespace (as well) to allow as many editors as wish to find and edit it. IT may or may not survive in main namespace, but it is no different from any other stub article in this regard. There is sufficient notability, but it is a case of only just having it. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:43, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I'll give it another chance in mainspace--5 albert square (talk) 21:55, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- The originator may need an explanation of our conversation. Wikipedia can be a bewildering place for even the most experienced editor. Thank you for seeing my concern and taking decisive action. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:02, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Does the original talk page contain anything of use, by the way? Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:05, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- I looked at the original talk page and no there was nothing of use there that I can remember. I'll watch the page and if it is tagged for deletion or even deleted then I'll move it back to userspace so it can be worked on. I'll leave a redirect if that happens though!--5 albert square (talk) 22:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Works for me. I've left a note at the originator's page to try to explain. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:15, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks to both. I guess I was confused with the Wikipedia’s regulations. It’s ok for me to let the other editors to work on it. I will make my effort too.--Parira (talk) 09:42, 18 August 2012 (UTC)Parira
- Works for me. I've left a note at the originator's page to try to explain. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 22:15, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I've added the webpage that I copied from as a refrence, but you' deleted it!!
Ryan Bukhari (talk) 23:20, 18 August 2012 (UTC) RyanBukhari
- Yes, that's the whole problem. You copied from a website. That is a copyright violation and it's something that Wikipedia takes very seriously. When I looked at the website and what you'd written it was word-for-word the same, like you'd just copied and pasted from the website. When you create pages they must be in your own words, if it's copied and pasted from another website then Wikipedia can't accept it because the copyright will belong to the other website so the page must then be deleted from Wikipedia for copyright reasons.--5 albert square (talk) 00:37, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok thanks :) It's a new disease and there is no much data about it :( I will try to make a comperhensive search and add it to wikipedia :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by RyanBukhari (talk • contribs) 01:32, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for blocking the latest IP address of the serial vandal attacking this page. I have emailed info-en-q@wikimedia.org to try and get this page either reverted and fully protected or deleted due to the serious libels being posted and the identification of the location of one of the people related to the article. However I have had no reply to the email. Is it possible to check if it is in the queue? If not, thanks anyway. Andreclos (talk) 01:33, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Albert Square, I just wanted to check the wikipedia page of a good friend (as stated in the headline), only to see you deleted it. As I can see you assume a copyright infringement, assumably of a picture or text taken from the website http://aikikai.org.mk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14%3Amichele-quaranta-sensei&catid=19%3Ateachers&Itemid=28&lang=en%29. Please note, that the person who runs that site is a student of Mr. Quaranta, possibly even the author of the wikipage. I would be grateful if you would put the page back online. I am sure that there is full acceptance of that text beeing used.

Need help in removing the IP Address from Revision history.
Hello Albert,
I accidentally did not see while editing summary that i was not logged into my account. Now my revision history shows my IP address in the History log. I rummaged through some articles about Revision deletion, but it is a little tricky as it says you need to delete the whole previous log and selected deletion is difficult.
Please help me with my problem. I will be highly obliged if you get back to me as soon as you can manage.
Thanking you.

GOCE September 2012 drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors September 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Out of 41 people who signed up this drive, 28 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing July, August, September and October 2011 from the backlog. This means that, for the first time since the drives began, the backlog is less than a year. At least 677 tagged articles were copy edited, although 365 new ones were added during the month. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2341 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 54 requests outstanding before September 2012 as well as eight of those made in September. Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the August 2012 competition, and prizes will be issued soon. The September 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The October 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote. – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest. PumpkinSky
User:PumpkinSky is running for admin. As it turned out, he is a returning former arbitrator. In his very first contributions with his current account he had a rather strange exchange with you, which I've mentioned at the RfA. Perhaps you care to comment on that; discussion is at oppose #27 or so. Tijfo098 (talk) 21:42, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
Lauren Branning
I think you made a mistake. Anyway, what I think would have been a good idea for scriptwriters to have done is to have brought back Angie Watts briefly in 1991 and then bring her back in 2003, when Den Watts returned rather than kill her off (even if meant paying Angie Dobson a whole heap of thousands). Another idea, would have been to bring back Kathy in 2005. I think Kathy, Pat, Angie and Pauline would have made a formidable friendship group together seen as they were all mates and had history dating back to the '60s. It would have been like an EastEnders version of Sex In the City (just with grannies). Also, Angie having an affair with one of the Mitchell brothers would also have been a great storyline or having a toyboy like Ian (I joke just there).I think I see some traits of the old generations with the new EastEnders generation. Lauren, Lucy and Whitney is a key one. Lauren reminds of Angie Watts purely because of her alcohol problem, Lucy reminds me of her great aunt Pauline because of her coldness and Whitney reminds me of Pat because she's a bit of a slapper and Pat's adoptive great granddaughter. Makes sense, eh! Also, Lola Pearce and Abi Branning are like the new Michelle and Sharon. Sharon's dad was Dirty Den (exactly like Max). Michelle had a baby at sixteen (almost like Lola). Anyway, I think you made a mistake but what do you think? --86.173.76.1 (talk) 01:07, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I'm not Diederick Santer. You made an edit to his page saying that he planned to bring back certain characters, but nothing to back that up and when I searched on Google I couldn't find any sources to back up your claims either. I'm simply a Wikipedia Administrator who happens to like EastEnders, part of my job as being an admin is reverting unsourced rumours!--5 albert square (talk) 22:40, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
The Bill
Hi 5 albert square. This is Rphr1987. I added that total of episodes with The Bill as I looked on the episode list and adding all the number of episodes per series, it makes it that total.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Rphr1987 (talk • contribs)
- Hello, I suggest that you read WP:VERIFY and WP:NOR. We have to go on what can be backed up by a reliable source especially as the Bill is a good article. If you can find a source that backs up your episode number change then by all means change it but if not then it will have to stay as it is.--5 albert square (talk) 22:25, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Kit Kat
I'm sry I really like your kitkat page and I'm still begging you to put my change back on only for 48 h Please I m trying to prove a point to my boss — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.26.75.184 (talk) 01:28, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, it was only removed because it doesn't belong in the reference section and putting it there messed up the page a little. If you want to re-add it I would suggest under the first paragraph of the "flavours" section as green tea is already mentioned there, however you will need to quote a reliable source when adding it.--5 albert square (talk) 01:42, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
Pseudosound
I'll unblock. Just because a user has the same name as a company does not necessarily mean they will be editing on that company's behalf until they actually do. Years ago, in my early tenure as an admin, I blocked User:Bravogolfhotel because, well, there actually is a Bravo Golf Hotel in the Phillippines. But it turned out to be a coincidence, as the user was merely spelling out "BGH" in the NATO Phonetic Alphabet. So I was persuaded to unblock.
There are a lot of potentially corporate names out there. If we pre-emptively blocked all of them, no one named McDonald could edit Wikipedia under that name, after all. As I've been famously quoted saying, I'd have no problem with a User:IBM, say, if they went to work on gardening articles. Daniel Case (talk) 04:26, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, appreciate it :)--5 albert square (talk) 06:54, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

MediaWiki translation - buryat
Hello, 5 albert square! I am an admin in Buryat Wiki. I have transleted everything here, and I want it, to appear in Buryat Wiki. Now you have there at the side:
- Нюур хуудаһан
- Community portal
- Current events
- Recent changes
- Random page
- Help
- Donate
I want it to be (and it must be):
- Нюур хуудаһан
- Хурал
- Һонин мэдээн
- Сайтдахи хубилалтанууд
- Үгүүлэл
- Асууха
- Donate
What I have to do? Can you help me? Thank you!--Gubin 12:48, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you're actually meaning?--5 albert square (talk) 19:05, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ah just looking at it further, I think you have to be a translator to save changes. I'm assuming you're not a translator on that Wikipedia? I'm afraid I only know the English Wikipedia, I can't even log into your one. Maybe you need to find someone that's a translator?--5 albert square (talk) 19:10, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Aloha
5 albert square, sorry, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be responding (formally) to unblock requests if you're the blocking admin. Kind regards, Drmies (talk) 03:18, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- I thought it would be ok as it was the second unblock request. I did actually review every single piece of information again and I still couldn't condone the action. However I'll keep well away in future.--5 albert square (talk) 12:20, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- I don't doubt your due diligence, but the user requesting an unblock might. I have seen admins give comments or explanation (I've done that myself), but the actual request should be left to another. FWIW, I agree with the block. Happy days, Drmies (talk) 16:39, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Patrick W. Griffin
Hi 5 albert square,
I was wondering what kind of references would be satisfactory for the article I posted about Patrick W. Griffin. I used a press release from the website of the college where he is a fellow, and also a news article where he is mentioned.

2012 Bangladesh Premier League
Hi, On Monday I requested that the 2011-12 Bangladesh League was moved to be simply the 2012 Bangladesh League. Somethin I couldn't rename myself as it was previously called that. This is for a soccer/football article. Later that evening it was moved and called 2012 Bangladesh Premier League ( I can't quite remember if this is the name I requested or not), but what already appeared to be their was this article for cricket. We now appear to have lost all the data for 2011-12 Bangladesh League and the 2012 article refers to a Bangladeshi cricket competition. Can this be restored in anyway back to say Sunday evening? Once restored I will then re-look at what the article can be called? Druryfire (talk) 19:46, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't know I'm afraid as I've never come across this before. When pages are moved, they're simply moved. No data is deleted from them. I'm confused though, it's like the page is on a double-redirect now which it definitely wasn't when I moved it. I'm going to get another admin to look at this though as I'm actually off on holiday and probably won't be online for the next couple of weeks.--5 albert square (talk) 00:02, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- That's fine. Enjoy your holiday. Druryfire (talk) 18:30, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your time on this. The article now appears to be back, someone re-created the whole thing!! Thank's again for your time. Druryfire (talk) 19:36, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi 5 albert square.
I have to head out for lunch, but I'll be back in a little while. There were two opposes to the speedy deletion, one based on historical reasons and the other (mine) purely technical. I don't think it should have been speedied in the first place, but, well it was. Could you possibly userfy it for me, and let me know who the person who started the article and the other opposer were?
I'd be more than happy to work it up to something acceptable with them.
Thanks!--Shirt58 (talk) 02:06, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sure it's now at User:Shirt58/Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company. Give me a sec and I'll try and get the other info--5 albert square (talk) 02:13, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- User:Jonwurl started the article and User:Kudpung nominated it for deletion--5 albert square (talk) 02:16, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- I am user User:Jonwurl but I sign these Laurentian Shield. Anyway, I am glad at least someone sees that speedy deletion may have been inappropriate. I am going to add one sentence at the beginning that should make the issue clear. Please let me know what you think. This company is responsible for the flow of the entire river, and as such is of interest to every organism in the ecosystem. The article may not be elaborate enough, but I did call it a stub. Thanks. Laurentian Shield (talk) 02:44, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- The article was deleted accrding to guidelines but I have no objections to it being recreated if appropriately sourced for notability. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:03, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- I thought I did -- Richard Durbin's book is authoritative, and he spends two pages on the topic. Also I quoted from the Wisconsin Statutes as to the company's charter. This establishes notability from two separate neutral sources. I strengthened the opening to make it clear that the company affects the economy and exosystem of the whole river, and resubmitted it. Thanks. Laurentian Shield (talk) 03:13, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi all. Thank you for the userfication, 5 albert square. To be quite frank, it would appear to me to have been deleted for precisely the reasons WP:NPPers are sometimes quite rightly criticised, in this case, "it's about company, therefore it must be promotional". Probably best if I just go ahead and say this explicitly, rather than snippy insinuations. In the case of this article, and this article alone:
- User:Kudpung, I question your judgement in nominating it for speedy deletion
- User:5 albert square, I question your judgement in the speedy deletion of the article
There, I've said my piece. You are both admins, selected for amongst other things, your good judgement. Lets move on. I suggest that it might be more productive to continue to discuss the deleted article here.
--Shirt58 (talk) 11:05, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Those are snippy insinuations, if not directly snide, and you could perhaps be slightly more tolerant of the fact that even experienced admins are not perfect. That said, the deletion was recommended and carried out as you correctly note, by 2 admins. The promotional tag was added because Wikipedia is not a corporate listing site and in my opinion, brief company articles that do not assert notability at the time of creation fall under this category. I have no objections whatsoever with the article being recreated if it is appropriately referenced to independent 3rd party sources in number, in number, depth, and focus. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 23:37, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Kudpung กุดผึ้ง Do you object to recreation based on my insertion of a stronger sentence as to notability? If not, I will just restart it (assuming I can). There are certain mechanical things I don't understand but I feel the basic questions have been resolved. If improvements are needed I will be glad to add them. But what should I do next? Thanks! Hello
Would you take a look at User_talk:Jeepday#RE:_Vandal? What at first looked like a failure to apply WP:AGF is looking a bit darker. Not sure if I am missing something. Jeepday (talk) 02:54, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated
Hi, I'm Ryan Vesey. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Andersson Jamal, and have un-reviewed it again. If you've got any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Thanks, Ryan Vesey
- I saw this on Kudpung's talk page and was performing a test. There should really be some way of suppressing the message. Ryan Vesey 01:55, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- That's ok. It's a bit strange though that the automated message doesn't give a time and date stamp. How are the bots going to know when to archive the message unless someone replies?!--5 albert square (talk) 01:58, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'll let Oliver Keyes know, they've stopped actively working on Page Curation I believe, but this should be an immediate fix. Really, all it needs to do is replace the username at the end with the person's signature. Ryan Vesey 02:09, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
