636Buster, you are invited to the Teahouse
Hi 636Buster! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Sacagawea Dollar Obverse
Hi. Thanks for your work on Sacagawea dollar. I'm writing here to notify you that the obverse of the coin is not a public domain image, as the copyright was maintained by the artist, Glenna Goodacre. As such, the only image we can use of that design has to include Fair Use rationale. Thanks!-RHM22 (talk) 01:09, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information, my U.S. copyright has been fixed. -636Buster
Canadian Coin Images
Hi 636Buster
Just an FYI, the representations of Canadian coins are copyrighted to the Royal Canadian Mint, so they need a fair use rationale (like there is on my versions) even if you drew them yourself. They also aren't allowed on the Commons, which is free-media-only. If you'd like to add in the fair-use rationale for your versions, we can replace mine with yours in the article, as yours are nicer images and are more up-to-date than my photographs of an older edition of the coin. Grandmartin11 (talk) 19:42, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
In reply to your message on my talk page, what you need to do is upload the image to Wikipedia, not to the Commons, and insert the non-free currency template and a fair use rationale template with appropriate information in the Licensing section, same as the ones I have on my versions of the coin image. Grandmartin11 (talk) 20:29, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information, my Canadian copyright has been fixed. -636Buster
East Palestine, Ohio
Hi, Buster. Just wanted you to know I have reverted your edit at the above article. City, Village, Town, Borough, etc. are legal descriptions, not subjective terms to describe size. East Palatine is legally a village. Glad you are here. Feel free to contact me on my talk page if you ever need any help. I will leave you some helpful links to policies and such and one to a Q&A forum especially for new editors. Thanks for being here. Although it isn't exactly simple, editing Wikipedia is fun! John from Idegon (talk) 19:32, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. -636Buster
Salem Micropolitan Area
Just letting you know I undid this edit of yours. The names in the table are based on definitions from the Office of Management and Budget (here), many of which were redefined in 2013, including East Liverpool/Salem. I won't bother to change the Columbiana County back, since it isn't directly sourced from the OMB. But please be aware that the official names have changed. Thanks. Kennethaw88 • talk 01:13, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. -636Buster
Northern Lights
Hey I undid your edit to Northern Lights Shopping Center. Although it was done in good faith, Walmart is on a separately-owned parcel of property not owned by Zamias, and is not legally considered part of Northern Lights due to Giant Eagle's lease at Northern Lights. The road that now goes through Northern Lights to Walmart is a public road owned by Economy Borough, not an access road owned by Walmart and/or Zamias. Even though it is the only access to the new Walmart, it is a public road. Jgera5 (talk) 03:22, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. -636Buster
Italics
Hi there. I just wanted to let you know I reverted a few of your edits to articles like Akron, Ohio, Summit County, Ohio, and Portage County, Ohio in regards to italicizing the metro and combined statistical areas. As far as I understand from the Manual of Style, there is no need to italicize the MSA or CSA based on the examples and guidelines there since there is no need to place emphasis on the MSA and CSA.
Also, in regards to the Cleveland-Elyria MSA and the Cleveland-Akron-Canton CSA, Greater Cleveland is specifically about the Cleveland-Elyria MSA, though it has mention of the CSA. Up until a year or so ago, Northeast Ohio redirected to Greater Cleveland, so a lot of NE Ohio information was included in the Greater Cleveland article. Some of the CSA info still remains in the article on Greater Cleveland, but most of it is (or should be) in the Northeast Ohio article simply because the CSA covers most of NE Ohio, while Greater Cleveland seems to most often refer to the MSA area (Cuyahoga County and adjacent counties like Lorain, Lake, Geauga). --JonRidinger (talk) 20:52, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. -636Buster
Why did you change Wellsville picture ?
Why did you change Wellsville picture? Why not included aerial shot later on page ? I submitted Kiln picture. FDLeyda (talk) 19:25, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
I thought it was a more representing picture, but the consensus is for the aerial. -636Buster
No italics and state abbreviations
I have reverted your edit regarding "Savannah Metropolitan Statistical Area." It should not be italicized in the article; moreover, the official long titles (with state postal abbreviations) used by the US Census Bureau do not appear in general articles in Wikipedia and do not follow the Manual of Style. It is unnecessary to impose an anomalous style on an article of long standing that already follows WP protocols. Thanks.Mason.Jones (talk) 00:56, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
I have noted this and will work to fix other pages which followed the style I was using. -636Buster
Geobox
There is no consensus as to whether Infobox settlement or Geobox is preferred, it is more of a personal preference. Arbitrarily changing it, especially in a featured article, isn't exactly good form. I've considered using Infobox settlement, but liked the appearance and flexibility of the Geobox better. If there's a been a change in consensus, let me know, it's possible I'm just not up-to-date with these changes. Niagara Don't give up the ship 02:54, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know about this, I made the change well after the debate closed unknowingly. -636Buster
Can I ask why you do not feel bound by the BRD guideline? You boldly add infoboxes (2,000+ bytes) to two articles, are reverted and then revert again, never bothering to open a discussion on the talk page or my user page.
Your infobox on East Francia tells us that the last king died in 911, while East Francia continued on until 962, when it was disestablished. Both "facts" are false. The map you added to both articles shows Navarre as a part of France and Brittany as not. If anything, it should be the other way around. Srnec (talk) 23:07, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for attempting to improve the article with a proper infobox that summarizes the information of the empire, which isn't blocked by BRD? My infoboxed used information straight from the articles themselves, so if they were false then the articles were incorrectly dated and mapped. -636Buster
Jefferson County, Ohio
Hello, I'm Mr. Deletionist. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Jefferson County, Ohio because it did not appear constructive. Move cleanup
I take it you'll be fixing all these links that now link to the wrong article: [1]; yes? Normally this kind of primarytopic grab would not be considered or allowed as non-controversial. Don't be surprised if you get some pushback, especially if you don't get the cleanup done quickly. Dicklyon (talk) 23:20, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. All links have been fixed. -636Buster
Reference errors on 7 January
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Lake Tomahawk, Ohio page, your edit caused a broken reference name (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:20, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Could you please take a moment to fix the links you've added to Columbiana County, Ohio. You've linked school districts to schools, and then linked the school to the same link, which is contrary to WP:LINKCLARITY and WP:SPECIFICLINK. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:46, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Ways to improve Mahoning County High School
Hi, I'm TonyBallioni. 636Buster, thanks for creating Mahoning County High School!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. If you could include additional references from reliable sources it would improve the article.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Streetsboro High School
Thanks for the edit on Streetsboro High School, but, unfortunately, I had to tag the photo for a copyright violation since it comes from the construction company website. While I appreciate that you properly noted the source, Wikimedia Commons is for freely-licensed images; images found on websites like that are typically copyrighted. In this case, the copyright is stated at the bottom of the company website, so the image isn't eligible for the Commons and also isn't eligible to be used in the SHS article. The best bet for photos of buildings that currently stand is to get a photo yourself that you can release and upload. That way, there's no question about its copyright status. Using copyrighted photos is only permissible when there is no other available image and no way to get a freely-licensed image, such as in the case of a demolished building. Any questions, please ask! --JonRidinger (talk) 16:38, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello, prompted by this edit to the Canton McKinley High School page, I noticed that you're edit there to add an infobox created a reference error because the ref named "Ohio_High_School_Athletic_Association_member_directory" does not exist in that article. I checked a random page you edited recently, Southern Local Junior/Senior High School, and the corresponding ref there was dead. Just letting you know. Graham87 03:14, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

Largest metropolitan areas of the United States
Just curious what your rationale was for swapping {{Largest metropolitan areas of the United States}} with a manually created version. My main concern is that it may cause content fragmentation and inconsistency with the other articles using the original template, although your version does provide better consistency with other country articles that have a largest cities table. Perhaps your version using {{Largest cities}} should be used to update the main template instead? That would ensure the other articles are also updated and remain in sync. — AfroThundr (u · t · c) 20:38, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- I've made a proposal to replace the existing template with the new version based on {{Largest cities}}. See discussion here. — AfroThundr (u · t · c) 23:41, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
