Use of AI-written content on Wikipedia

edit

Hello, I'm Belbury. An edit that you recently made to Immersive sim seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or another application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. I have reverted your edit. If you want to practice editing, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Belbury (talk) 12:20, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey! Hello. You say: <<Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. I have reverted your edit.>>
So, why don't you check this?
I rechecked it all 5 days in a row. And I myself corrected every word in this formulation. Do you have any criticism of my wording or remarks on the topic? 95.25.77.155 (talk) 14:46, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
From the source it was you having a conversation with an AI to see what you could both agree on when defining the topic? WP:LLM considers AI content to be a form of original research. You writing down your own thoughts is also original research. So the text of conversation you had is not suitable for a Wikipedia article.
By all means use the AI's comments as a starting point for improving the article by hand, but you will need to use reliable secondary sources. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Belbury (talk) 15:02, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Immersive sim. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. As I say above, a conversation you had with an AI is original research, it cannot be used as a source in a Wikipedia article. Do not add it again. Belbury (talk) 18:04, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
