Wikipedia:NAMECHANGE =JoeinMissouri is this how i'd change the username to a non-violation user name? I assume if i can make a new user name, then i can write an article on the AGOGIE company, correct?
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Agogie
editA tag has been placed on your user page, User:Agogie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. L3X1 Become a New Page Patroller! Request reason:
How is this a promotion of a business? The article is written as an information post that their is a company called AGOGIE and how it was started. This is no different then postings of other companies like Nike, Under Amour or any other company. The AGOGIE company does operate in multiple countries and works with celebrity athletes around the world. Please explain why this is promotion to state that their is a company called AGOGIE and what is does?
Decline reason:
The block is due to your user name, which matches that of the organization. Per our rules regarding usernames you must choose a different name if you wish to continue editing. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:12, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory,
- conflict of interest prevents you from editing about your company,
- To be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable.
- I have globally renamed 'Agogie' to 'JoeinMissouri'. However, I am not prepared to unblock you at the moment. Firstly you need to declare your connection with the company (see WP:PAID and WP:COI) and secondly show an understanding of WP:ORG. An indication of what edits you would like to make unconnected with this company would also help. Just Chilling (talk) 21:12, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Just Chilling and Alexf: Consensus is that
users soft-blocked for username issues should not have to answer further questions as a prerequisite to unblocking after the username issue has been addressed
(see here). Do you mind if I unblock? Vanjagenije (talk) 19:27, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

- @Vanjagenije: Actually, in this case I do mind. Softblock was used because the editing was not blatant, in that user had not created an article on the company, only mentioned it in their user page, and exactly matched the username. That said, his response does not fill me with confidence there will not be COI editing forthcoming, User should understand these issues and confirm he has read, and understood the pages linked to the explanations. -- Alexf(talk) 21:50, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Alexf: In cases like this one, you should use hard block. As you see from the link I provided, soft block is only for cases where username issue is the only issue. This is very confusing, as you do not agree with unblocking, yet in the blocking message above, you are asking the user to
