Thanks for the edit.

Ashley, thanks for completing the edit that I started on the Cheap Trick album Standing on the Edge. I was inadvertently called away on an emergency and did not complete the copy and paste on the chart single. Just got back today and noticed. Frankzappatwin (talk) 17:36, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Frankzappatwin, you're welcome. I just happened to notice the song name needed changing, but keep up the good work cleaning up the album pages. They are looking all the better for it. Ajsmith141 (talk) 18:50, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Jermaine Stewart

Dear Aj, I am very new to Wikipedia but I am a HUGE Jermaine Stewart fan, recently I finally got my hand on the "Hot & Cold" single in cassette format and would love to help with a page about this and maybe post a picture of the cassette...but alas I have no idea how! Side be is "Search for Love" which was later shortened to "Search" for various other releases. If you ever would like to link from Jermaine's main page to a little blurb about the "Hot & Cold" single I am happy to help and will send you any info you need from the original packaging. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JonjonjonF (talkcontribs) 22:37, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

  • Hi JonjonjonF, thanks for the message, great to hear from another Jermaine Stewart fan. I did look at doing a page for "Hot & Cold" a few years back, but there doesn't seem to be much information out there (critical reception etc) so there's only limited material that can be used. Plus the song did not chart in the US, which would raise questions of notability according to Wikipedia's guidelines. For now I've added a small section about the song and its release as a single on the Weekend at Bernie's page. Ajsmith141 (talk) 10:31, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Clapton Mill

Thanks for doing the article for Clapton Mill. I am currently working on Grade II* listed buildings in South Somerset and this means one less for me to do. How would feel about and infobox with map etc being added like that on Bishops Lydeard Mill and Rural Life Museum, Claverton Pumping Station, Dunster Working Watermill, Gants Mill, Tellisford Mill etc?— Rod talk 18:31, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi Rodw, thanks for the message and well done on all the work on the South Somerset articles. An infobox for Clapton Mill would be perfectly okay with me! It's a fascinating building that I've been past on many occasions. Unfortunately I haven't got much spare time on my hands, but I might be able to help with the creation of the odd article from the Grade II* list in the future. Recommendation for listed buildings articles

I just wanted to thank you for adding all these articles on listed buildings and churches in the West Country-it's a tremendous amount of work. One thing that's really useful to finish off listed building articles is to link to their entry on Wikidata, which holds structured records. There's an entry on there pre-created already for every listed building in the UK waiting to have an article linked to it, and that's really worth doing to avoid duplicate articles and make sure that Wikimedia Commons categories or articles in other languages get linked to the articles you write. I went back over about thirty of your articles the other day (yeah, I know, I know...it was that or watch Strictly Come Dancing) and found that most of them could be easily linked to to the Wikidata entry just by searching for the listing ID in a reference title. In many cases (for instance St Nicholas' Church, Broadwey) that linked them to pre-existing Wikimedia Commons categories which can have extra images, like of the interior. Blythwood (talk) 17:51, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi Blythwood, many thanks for the message and the kinds words. It's certainly been something of a project doing these articles! The British Newspaper Archive is a great resource and it's fascinating digging up details on the churches etc I've got around to so far. Thanks for the heads up regarding Wikidata and for linking the ones you've already done. I've been getting notifications of pages being connected to Wikidata for months but was not familiar with what it was! Next time I get another listed building article completed I'll be sure to get it linked up. Ajsmith141 (talk) 16:04, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
It is a really useful thing to do. As an example of why, now I've finished the links, Bridport Museum links to the Wikimedia Commons category, which can include pictures of its collections as well as the outside (well, only one picture of a mug now, but you get the idea!!) and on the Commons category there's this useful infobox which links to the listing, the museum website, and a map, as well as the Wikipedia page. Before you didn't have those. Annoyingly, as I'm sure you know, the official names of listed buildings often aren't very user-friendly, because they don't mention the town and often ramble on about how the garden wall or the potting shed is part of the listing too. So doing this can't easily be automated, it's simplest to just put it in when you're creating the Wikipedia page and you've cued up the listed building number right in front of you. Blythwood (talk) 00:16, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Many thanks again Blythwood, yes that makes good sense! I've given it a go (linking the new article for the Church of St James the Less, Hambridge) and it seems to have worked ok. Ajsmith141 (talk) 07:04, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

French singles charts questions

Hello there! I was looking for songs that need chart positions citations and I came across some of your edits. I have a few questions about some of your French singles charts edits:

Please note that I only came across these as they were tagged citation needed next to the chart. And since I noticed that you're an active editor, I thought I should ask you :) Thanks! --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 19:49, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi MrLinkinPark333! Thanks for the message. I believe those edits of mine from years ago mainly came from tsort.info, which at the time was being frequently used on Wikipedia but was then (and rightfully) considered an unreliable source. So I think those chart positions with the citation tags can probably be removed unless any reliable source can be found. I have a feeling there was a website a few years back offering French chart archive information, but it was then closed. Unfortunately the name escapes me but if I remember the website I'll check if it can still be accessed via the Wayback Machine. In the mean time, I'll remove those chart positions from some of the articles I've worked on in the past. Ajsmith141 (talk) 13:46, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Hello! Thank you for the understanding. I see you removed some other ones as well like Australian Kent Music Report, New Zealand, Belgian, Japanese and Polish. If i find any of these (primarily the first three), I'll put them back in with a citation :) --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 16:51, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Excellent, many thanks! Ajsmith141 (talk) 12:47, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Other charts

Hello again. I was looking through the Slade articles and came across Dutch Top 40 (which is reliable) for a lot of Slade songs that haven't been added. If you're interested and want to add them, check here like I added at Thanks for the Memory (Wham Bam Thank You Mam). You can also check other charts listed at this template as well to determine whether they charted or not. That's how I found the Belgian charts for Ordinary Girl and Know by Now. :) However, not every year/peak position is covered by these websites. For example, Australiancharts.com doesn't cover the Kent Music Report and only has the Top 50 of the ARIA Charts, despite ARIA being a Top 100 chart. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 17:19, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the info, I'll add some of those Top 40 entries as and when I get time. There's quite a few for Slade so would be good to get them added. Ajsmith141 (talk) 12:49, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Aimee Mann

Thanks for all this great Aimee Mann content you've been adding. Let me know if you want to collaborate on an article about one of her albums. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 20:19, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks Justin, I'm a fairly new fan of Aimee Mann's work! I'm hoping to create pages for the remaining eligible singles and would then happily collaborate on some of the album articles. There's a lot that could be added, such as the record company troubles following Whatever which led to Mann signing with Geffen for the release of I'm with Stupid. Proposed deletion of File:Chrismontezletsdancesingle.jpg

The file File:Chrismontezletsdancesingle.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Actually the front cover of Dutch compilation album (ebay) of the same name by Chris Montez. Inaccurately identified as the cover of the single.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

The Lover Speaks infobox album imagery

Not sure what you were aiming to do, but removing a long-standing image with another image - without discussion or consultation with the original uploader - seems to be...a bit confrontational. You might have added your image at some other point in the article but, as isn't free, either, there is no value in replacing the image of the group's premier album image. Disagree? Use the article talk page to sort it out; you might have avoided this, had you done precisely that at the beginning. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 19:08, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Again, sorry for getting a little hot; it was unwarranted. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 01:39, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
