Tales of Dunk and Egg

As I have already said, the Tales of Dunk and Egg is an ongoing novella series. The long wait for the next installment does not mean it's not true. George R.R. Martin himself have repeatedly said this over his blogs. @Mat 1997 I'm sure he has plans and workings-on indeed. I never said it wasn't true, please do not put words into my mouth. However, the books do not exist yet, and we do not list "–present" in perpetuity. Once the book actually exists, it can continue to be updated. -- Alex _talk 04:03, 16 August 2026 (UTC)

So does this same logic apply to Winds of Winter or The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss? Both authors have said that the sequels will come and yet the books still don't exist after 15 years. m.tyrell (talk) 04:06, 16 August 2026 (UTC)

A Song of Ice and Fire (franchise)

I want to ask this question in the talk page (it has been asked by someone, nobody replied) but since it's barely being edited by other authors and you have enough credentials, I wanna ask your opinion about re-naming/moving the page to "Game of Thrones (franchise)". All the spin-off tv shows and the stage play plus the upcoming film always have the word "Game of Thrones" in its name, posters, and marketing. Even most of the tabletop games, video games, etc has it. Online articles mostly use the term "game of thrones franchise". What do you think? m.tyrell (talk) 18:21, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

Upon further review, I think it's safe to say that it falls upon WP:MOVEREASON one and two. Renaming the page to "Game of Thrones (franchise)" will also follow WP:CRITERIA of recognizability, naturalness, and consistency. m.tyrell (talk) 16:18, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

@Mat 1997 Sorry for the late reply! I would highly recommend you file this through a WP:RM and link your sources through there, rather than making it a bold move, so you can get a clear community consensus. (I'll admit, I moved the article from Works based on A Song of Ice and FireWorks based on A Song of Ice and Fire as a bold move in December, but I made sure that it still incorporated the A Song of Ice and Fire title; a move away from that would need support.) -- Alex _talk 21:23, 19 August 2026 (UTC)

AHS 13 revert

Hi Alex, just a quick one. About this revert of yours, is your rationale based on a written, explicit guideline or what you observe to be normal practice (I'm pretty certain your observations about practice on TV articles are better than mine)? I'm asking more because when I was looking at MOS:TV, unless I'm missing something, there seemed to be a deficit of guidance on using episode tables, and it only really says how long plot summaries should be. @TedEdwards As we are both regular editors of the Television WikiProject, we would both know that it's a standard practice to not include rows based on the sole inclusion of a date, as Wikipedia is not a TV guide, and the inclusion of such would result in series having 10-20+ rows of empty TBA's bar a list of dates. -- Alex _talk 21:23, 26 August 2026 (UTC)

Terminology

Hi Alex, I'd like to ask you about the correct way to refer to a term in the Harry Potter series. It's about the use of "season" instead of "series". As mentioned in a note at the beginning of the article, British terminology should be used for the series, and an infobox parameter also uses "series", but throughout the article, "season" is used. I'm asking because I'm wondering if it would be correct to change all instances of "seasons" to "series" since British English is the one that should be used. And if so, I assume that Draft:Harry Potter season 1 and Draft:Harry Potter season 2 would also need to be retitled as "series". (talk page stalker) The article is using British English and dates, but "series" is not just the British version of "season", it is the term more commonly used for British TV but season is also used sometimes. Plus, HBO is American and I believe they have been using the term "season". You can check various reliable sources covering the second season renewal and the recent casting announcements to confirm what terminology is being used. If there are conflicting sources then I would raise the issue at Talk:Harry Potter (TV series) to gain consensus with other editors. - adamstom97 (talk) 12:08, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
