Removal of Articles for Deletion templates
editPlease stop removing the Article for Deletion (AFD) templates. It does nothing to prevent the deletion discussion and only results in you getting vandalism warnings and ultimately having your editing privileges removed. You were blocked for 24 hours last time, next time it will likely be longer.
If you want to prevent the deletion of an article that has been nominated for AFD, get involved in the AFD discussion (the link to which is in the template you keep removing), stating Keep and giving your rationale for keeping the article. You may want to ask for advice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Lists.
Remember that if you remove the AFD template again, you will with every probability be blocked and it is possible that your editing privileges will not be returned until after the AFD discussion ends, denying you the opportunity to be involved in it. Use of non-free image File:Disney Junior Logo.png on Disney Junior (Greece)
editThe non-free image File:Disney Junior Logo.png was recently restored to Disney Junior (Greece) by you after it have been removed for failure of our non-free content criteria policy, specifically item #10c which requires a "separate, specific non-free use rationale for each use of the item". The image still fails the 10c policy requirement and has been removed from the article again. Please do not restore this image to that article again without complying with the requirements of that policy. For more information on how to write an appropriate non-free use rationale, please consult Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. If you have questions about this, please ask. Speedy deletion nomination of List of programs broadcast by Network Ten
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of programs broadcast by Network Ten, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bidgee (talk) 09:12, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

editPlease do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Play School (Australian TV series). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Play School could only be in 2.0 stereo audio since the channels it airs on are only stereo, not 5.1 surround sound, unless there are sources that state the television program uses 5.1 surround when recorded.NJM2010 (talk) 07:37, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Big Brother Aus 2012
editHi, could you please stop adding this category [[Category:2012 Australian television series debuts] to Big Brother Australia article? - Big Brother Australia, clearly debuted a decade ago in 2001, and just because it discontinued from 2009-2011, and will continue in 2012, doesn't mean it's a new show. One Week at a Time move
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give One Week at a Time (AFL) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Some tips to help you out!
editHi Billy Liakopoulos, I thought I'd drop a few notes on your talk page with some help on writing articles :o)
First of all, it may be best for you to do a bit of reading, starting with the Wikipedia manual of style, which will give you a lot of information about how Wikipedia prefers its articles to be written. It's not as hard to follow as it might look; quite a bit of the information there probably won't be vital for you at first.
Second, I recommend you make a user sandbox - which is just an area you can use to practise in, and to make notes in, and to get things ready in. If you click this red link: user:Billy Liakopoulos/Sandbox, that will let you create that page (it gives you an edit window to start work in). Anything, anywhere, on the help and information pages which gives you an example, try it out in your sandbox until you're familiar with it.
For your article, the next thing you want to do is start collecting as much information as you can about it. Google searches (particularly in Books and Scholar) will be your best friend for this! Once you've found the information, the next most important thing is to start writing up each fact in your own words (very important, this), and make a note at the same time of exactly where that information came from. Build in the references as you go along; I'm going to copy in, down below this, a whole heap of help on doing references, which was produced by one of our best teachers (Chzz).
Here's another place that you'll find incredibly useful - citation templates which you can copy and paste into your sandbox, between <ref></ref> tags; you just fill in the blanks from your sources into the template, and you'll end up with nicely formatted inline citations :o) It all helps. Remember to add a references section to your sandbox (make a new line, and put ==References== on it, and type {{reflist}} on the next line, so that you can see how your citations look as you do them. Remember to save your page often! You don't want to lose your work.
Hopefully this will give you a good start and make life easier for you.
One last thing to keep as a motto: "It's better to write one good, well-referenced, nicely-presented article than it is to create fifty unreferenced one-line stubs!" Pesky (talk …stalk!) 07:20, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
How references work
editSimple references
editThese require two parts;
- a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
- b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References == {{reflist}}
(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)
To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Billy Liakopoulos/reftest and try it out.
Named references
editChzz was born in 1837. <ref name=MyBook> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref> Chzz lives in Footown.<ref name=MyBook/>
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates
editYou can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation | last = Smith | first = John | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century | publication-date = 2001 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]] | page = 125 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4 }} </ref>
Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.
For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.
Something to make your life easier!
editHi there Billy Liakopoulos! I've just come across one of your articles, and noticed that you had to create titles for your url links manually, or were using bare urls as references.
You might want to consider using this tool - it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install the script on Special:MyPage/common.js, or or Special:MyPage/vector.js, then paste the bare url (without [...] brackets) between your <ref></ref> tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for pdf documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. Happy editing! The 7PM Project
editHey Billy,
On several occasions you have changed the episode count on The 7PM Project to match the number of episodes to have aired on a day other than Monday. The reason why we don't allow the episode count to be updated on days other than Monday is because, generally, the program broadcasts 5 episodes a week and it is easier and more reliable to expect contributors to update the episode count after five episodes have aired. That is, in multiples of 5 (550, 555, 560, 565). This is for clarity reasons and helps stop any confusion. Because of this, I would like to ask you to please conclude updating episode counts unless you are updating the count to the specifications shown in the note to the left of the count (detailing that only on Monday can the count be updated, not taking into account any special episodes that occur on weekends or during the one/two week break the show takes over Christmas/New Year). Thank you for your co-operation. Bbmaniac (talk) 12:17, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Billy, this is the second time I have had to remind you to not update the episode count on Fridays for The Project. If you do not heed this notice, I will have no choice but to warn you officially. Bbmaniac (talk) 10:25, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Breakfast (TV program)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Breakfast (TV program), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Nomination of Got to Dance (Australia) for deletion
editA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Got to Dance (Australia) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Got to Dance (Australia) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Planetary ChaosTalk 13:08, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
The article Breakfast (TV program) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- It's not established why a future TV series is notable.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~Excesses~ (talk) 11:04, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Network Ten Logo.png
editThanks for uploading File:Network Ten Logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 00:33, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Network Ten Logo.svg

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Mark Howard (journalist). The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
The article Mark Howard (journalist) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. joe deckertalk to me 01:15, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
So You Think You Can Dance Australia info box
editHi there Billy. Nice additions to the SYTYCD Australia infobox. I just wanted to let you know that I changed one small detail, removing "Everybody Dance Now" as a continuation of the franchise. This is an inaccurate claim that circulated the media news based on the false assumptions of one article in particular. The new show is not licensed from the So You Think You Can Dance franchise, has a quite different format and is not affiliated with the earlier production, officially or otherwise. Anyway, just wanted to let you know my reasoning for removing that bit, since I did it so speedily. Other than that, great additions. Happy editing! Snow (talk) 09:26, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Incorrect information on Australian TV shows - most are not HD
editHello, Billy, I noticed you have added information to numerous articles relating to Australian TV shows. I thought you should know that most of these shows are not HD (1080i). Currently, 7, 9, and 10 are SD-only channels and have been for a number of years. Only GEM, 7Mate, and One HD currently broadcast in HD. Please ensure that when creating or modifying future articles on TV series, you add the correct picture format information. Also, SD shows are never broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1, so please ensure the sound format is "Stereo". Thanks. MisterZed (talk) 13:35, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Are you sure it's a local version?

Speedy deletion nomination of Creating Big Brother's Big Mouth
editA tag has been placed on Creating Big Brother's Big Mouth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Big Brother: Adults Only
editHi Billy Liakopoulos, I just thought I'd let you know that I saw your article Big Brother: Adults Only in the New Articles list-- The information is presented clearly and is easy to understand. However, I noticed there are some holes that may need filling: the article currently does not contain any references. As a new article, the most important thing is to find reliable references for all existing information.It would be great if you could also add references to the related article Network Ten.
I'm kind of new here myself but let me know if there is any way I can help. Thanks, Amy Z (talk) 05:40, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Request for an Interview
editHi Billy Liakopoulos,
I recently sent you a message about Big Brother: Adults Only.
I am a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University examining how to make interaction in Wikipedia more effective. Our research has shown that certain types of feedback encourage Wikipedians to edit more while others seem to discourage them. Experienced and less experienced Wikipedians seem to have different reactions to very similar feedback. I am interested in interviewing you about your reaction to the message I sent you. A discussion with you will help us better understand the types of feedback that can encourage newcomers's participation to Wikipedia without turning off old-timers.
I can talk with you via online chat, on Skype, over the phone, or just through Wikipedia messages if you are more comfortable with that. The interview should take take less than 60 minutes. You do need to be over 18 years old, and consent to be a part of the study in order to for me to interview you. This study has been approved by Carnegie Mellon's research ethics committee (the IRB), and the Wikipedia Research Committee.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. We will be glad to send you a draft describing our research results right after the interview.

Hey Billy Liakopoulos
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:41, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Spree TV
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Spree TV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Billy Liakopoulos. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Seriously 40, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

Speedy deletion nomination of Win Roy & H.G.'s Money
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Win Roy & H.G.'s Money requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Chris Moore (talk) 12:26, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Last Chance to See Cuba
editHello, Billy Liakopoulos,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Last Chance to See Cuba should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Last Chance to See Cuba .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Speedy deletion nomination of AFL on Seven
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on AFL on Seven, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
Hello, Billy Liakopoulos. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, List of current NBL team rosters, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}

editThe article 2013–14 WNBL season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Newly created article with no references.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stuartyeates (talk) 09:36, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

Category:Illawarra Hawks players
editI saw that you created this category and moved players from "Category:Woolongong Hawks players." There is ample consensus that those who played under the old name should carry the category for the old name as a sub-category of the new name. I started a discussion on how to handle naming Category:Illawarra Hawks players as the team has recently announced a transition back to its old name from "Woolongong Hawks." editHi, thanks for implementing ([2]) the emerging consensus at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_August_20#Category:American_television_series_debuts. All help is welcome, especially as there is a backlog at CfD, and all the more when it needs manual changes to templates. ([3])

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Dandenong Stadium, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums.php?id=146.

Hobart Chargers
editHey mate. With your Hobart Chargers article creation, do you have a source that lists that they played between 1981 and 1985? While the team website does say they were out for a five year period [4], the Chargers' SEABL media guide lists them having played in 1987 and 1988 [5]. Just wondering where you found the years they played in. Cheers. DaHuzyBru (talk) 07:07, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Sunny Channel.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Sunny Channel.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:35, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 9Now
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 9Now requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
