Note:

Hi! I plan to edit this article by providing an overview of what a viral protein is. The range of discovered viral proteins today is vast, and its very difficult to talk specifically about each and every one of them in a single article. I plan to talk about the four main types of viral proteins, namely viral structural proteins, viral nonstructural proteins, and viral regulatory and accessory proteins. I'm certain that there may be other types of viral proteins that I'm unaware of (due to limited general information about viral proteins available online) but I'll try my best to expand this article in a way that is helpful to the general audience I'm still working on the article, and I will be making edits to the main article page starting from April 5th.

Peer Review:

I have noticed that in this article a large portion of the headings are related to HIV viral protiens. With this I would suggest searching for articles relating to HIV and using those to find information to add to your page. I would also suggest looking up other Endogenous retroviral protein sub-categories to add. This way there will be multiple sub-categories instead of just the current one for HIV. I am also not sure how useful the subsections of the HIV envelope proteins are, if this is vital then do your best to expand on it.

I don't know whether the classification of virus proteins could be showed in the first couple of sections which maybe helpful for the following sub-category. Is there any difference in the mechanism of producing virus protein from eukaryotic cells?Jack1104ch (talk) 18:59, 25 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Looking at the history of the article I noticed the picture was deleted sometime between March 15th and March 25th (perhaps the material haven’t been completely transferred yet). I suggest having, even if short, introduction to viral protein before the content table to let the audience know if the article is what they are looking for right at the beginning. In the second paragraph of the article the viral proteins have been explained thoroughly; I suggest adding the definition to the first paragraphs before you shift to “”Viral proteins are extremely diverse and cellular organisms.” Porpochista (talk) 19:14, 25 March 2016 (UTC)PorpochistaReply

For your article, I suggest linking in "Virology" and "Molecular virology" articles and vice versa. Porpochista (talk) 18:08, 1 April 2016 (UTC)PorpochistaReply

I think all the reference could be formatted into one reference section. The links within the article are also very helpful but there is none of them in the version that I see. In the definition section, there are four groups of viral proteins were listed but it seems like there are only three sub-sections. Jack1104ch (talk) 18:14, 1 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

So far the information you have been adding is much clearer and easier to understand. I like the direction that you are taking this article. The main article does have a single image which I will assume you will leave as is, if it is possible maybe try to add another to describe a certain section. At this point there is really only one section of the article with multiple subsections, is there relative information that could possibly add addition sections? The description is also a bit high for grade level readability. I might suggest looking at each sentence individually and seeing if it is possible to make it easier to understand. If you have trouble coming up with other sections, there are multiple pages that link to your article which may relate to it. It may help to use this page to add in subjects that you deem necessary.
