The Wire
editWelcome to Wikipedia! Who is the artist performing the new Season Four version of The Wire's theme song ("Way Down in the Hole")? Was this recording commissioned specifically for the show, or was it licensed? I ask because I'd like to add the new information to The Wire (TV series). Andrew Levine 04:36, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi Andrew - This season's main title was commisioned by the show and performed by a group of musicians gathered specifically to record this version of the song. The vocalists are all teenage boys from Baltimore. The song was arranged and produced by Doreen Vail, Maurette Brown-Clark and J.B. Wilkins. The young voices featured are those of Ivan Ashford, Markel Steele, Cameron Brown, Tariq Al-Sabir and Avery Bargasse. The musicians are Ronald Lindsey and Thomas Crosson. Mike Potter engineered the session. Blake Leyh played bass, additional percussion and guitars, and did the final mix with Andy Kris who mixes the show. Blakeleyh 13:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi!
editI was just wondering if you're actually Blake Leyh or if you chose your username because you're a fan of his work. Either way, happy editing! SuperMachine 16:21, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi!
editI can't believe you work on The Wire. Do you know any of the other cast and crew very well?! It is the best show ever! Creamy3 (talk) 21:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Liz Leyh
editI have provided a citation at Concrete Cows that says that Liz Leyh is Canadian. I acknowledge your user name: do you have a better reference that contradicts my source? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
