Citation bot for CITEVAR

edit

If two major citation styles are present in a 200-citation article, could the bot be modified to make all citations consistent in one style? Zefr (talk) 03:15, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

This should be discussed on the Bot's page. Not here. AManWithNoPlan (talk) 21:41, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Taxobot

edit

Hi,

Around 10 years ago, you created Taxobot and registered it on Toolforge. It appears to be inactive.

In 2021, Taxobot was created on the French Wikipedia (Github). We would like to attempt deploying that tool on Toolforge under its original name. Since your Taxobot is still registered, albeit inactive, would you be open to rename / delete it on Toolforge to free up the URL for this project?

Thank you. LD (talk) 10:30, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your edit to Gelman-Rubin statistic

edit

Hello! I reverted you recent edit to Gelman-Rubin statistic. Your edit was badly formatted, and unencyclopedic. If you feel the given formula is incorrect, I encourage you to discuss this issue on the article's talk page. Thanks! DoctorMatt (talk) 06:36, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well, the talk page already indicates that the forumla is incorrect. I've restored the edit in a more "encyclopaedic" format – if you feel you can improve the formatting, do please feel free to do so, but I think it's worth keeping the reference in there as in my view, it's better to have badly formatted but correct information than formulae that are perfectly formatted but with no indication that they are misleading! Martin (Smith609 – Talk) 09:45, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your Bot made a misleading and factually erroneous assertion at the top of a Wikipedia article.

edit

In the Wikipedia article about JAMES ROSEN (author), your bot claimed: "This article relies excessively on references to primary sources. Please improve this article by adding secondary or tertiary sources." This is factually false. Only four of 24 footnoted sources are primary sources; the other 20 footnoted sources are secondary or tertiary sources, as the bot requests. This claim also is nonsensical because primary sources are the gold standard in all biographical or autobiographical work. Blueboy567 (talk) 23:47, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Blueboy567, that template was added in this edit, not by a bot. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:00, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
