I respect your opinion!

Since you work on a lot of MMA articles I wish to know do you think Erica Montoya is noteworthy enough to make a Wikipedia article? Dwanyewest (talk) 09:17, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

Dwanyewest as per Sherdog, Montaya had one tier on promoter fight (Shotoo in Japan) in 2003 - see here-1 and under the WP:MMABIO she does not pass the guidelines. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 10:08, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

HS State Championships record on MMA fighters.

Hey what's up? It has been a while dude. I have a question; I was thinking on adding the former-wrestlers-turned-MMA-fighters' record they posted while competing at the high school wrestling state championships (from different states, obviously), what do you think? I couldn't explain myself any better, but for example, let's take Cody Garbrandt. I'd use the same format I used for the "NCAA record" but the section would be called in different ways depending on the state the fighter competed (if it's Ohio it'd be OHSAA record, AIA record for Arizona, PIAA record for Pennsylvania... you get the point). So yeah, it would be the same as their collegiate record in the national championships but this is their high school record in the state championships. Let me know if you agree with the project. Btw, in my sandbox there's an example from Roman Bravo-Young, who competed in Arizona in Division I. Cheers.— Preceding unsigned comment added by PabloLikesToWrestle (talkcontribs) 06:41, September 16, 2020 (UTC)

PabloLikesToWrestle Good day. Hi I have seen you improving/edit many MMA fighter pages in wrestling related section and I would like to thank you for your effort and time spent on improving the page. Wrestling in high school, even if they are state champion does not carry much weight in Wikipedia, you can add a line (just like in Cody Garbrandt page as long as a source (citation) is provided. Let me know what else I could help. Stay safe and best.10:21, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Cassiopeia Hey, thank you very much! I'm always willing to help the MMA community through my wrestling knowledge. I understand, I'll just add some info in the "background" section and in the "championships and accomplishments" if possible. By the way, how do you sign a comment on a user talk? Thank you. 23:06, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Interesting discussion

Knowing how committed you are to teaching our new editors the Rules Of the Road, I think you might find the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention#Links to prior research and discussions very interesting.―Buster7  12:18, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Hey

Hey Cass, how is it going? I was taking a break from editing when I remembered you. so long ago since I started it How is life going? Best, Signed,The4lines |||| (You Asked?) (What I have Done.) 14:45, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

The4lines Good day. Happy to know that you are back and thank you for dropping by. All is well but my country place restriction on state and international travelling, plus we still on stage 3 and 4 social distancing and business operation even some states have clearly doing very well compared to almost all countries except New Zealand. We practically lock ourselves in a big island from the rest of the world. For me, at least now I can go to the gym as long as I keep social distancing and hygiene as per our gov set out in a health center. So life is good and I hope you are well and welcome back! Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 03:18, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

UFC 253 card

I was working on adding the fights of the main, prelims and early prelims. It just crashed. Can you add it? IMAHua (talk) 02:54, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

IMAHu Good day. I think you meant Wikipedia site crashed. It happens sometimes but only for a short while and other time it is because few editors edit the page at the same time. The fight card section has already been updated. Have a look. Stay safe and enjoy UFN 178 this weekend. Cassiopeia(talk) 03:10, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Fighter name pages, foreign letters

Just curious, what is the policy for the pages of fighters who are have names in languages with foreign accents. For example, would it be David Dvořák or David Dvorak for the name of the page? HeinzMaster (talk) 05:32, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

HeinzMaster Good day. Article name is based most more recognisable , natural and more concise - see WP:CRITERIA from the sources. Under "recogisable" then we will go by most common used name - see see WP:COMMONNAME. So as per the common name (since this is English Wikipedia and not Czek Wikipedia) we would use David Dvorak for most of our sources would use. However, we also can use David Dvořák since some of the sources we gather might come from Slav language, but we need to create "David Dvorak" redirect page back to David Dvořák for English keyboard doesnt have the diacritic marks plus we would not know the exact spelling of his name in Slav language when we search in the article in Wikipedia. Please see how to redirect a page template here (if you need help, then let me know).Here-1 is David Dvořák page in Czek Wikipedia. Most other language Wikipedia articles usually are written without sources but this one do have sources/citations included which you can use the content and the sources (make sure to check the content against the source by using google translate) for the English David Dvořák. (Notes, Each language Wikipedia operate independent from each other and from my understanding and English Wikipedia by far are most strict when it comes to its policies and guidelines, for such you would see many article accepted in mainspace in other languages but the subject would deem not notable in English Wikipedia. Let me know if anything else I can help. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:28, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
HeinzMaster Btw, when a fighter is released/retired/signed with other promotion, we update the info not only removing the fighter from the division and place it on the release section in List of current UFC fighters but also make necessary changes/update in "Debuted fighters' countries of origin" - see here -1. In addition we also update the info the fighter page - see here-2 and in "Releases and retirements" section in 2020 in UFC - see here-3. Stay safe and enjoy UFN 178 tmrw. New fighters for the Mainspace

We got a good bunch of fighters for tonight's card. Especially Khamzat so people can stop trying to post his article everytime he fights.

Best wishes HeinzMaster (talk) 15:44, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

File:KhamzatChimaev.jpg

Maybe this is the page to post it at, I don't know. The file was listed as "speedy deletion" so I figured it best to post here (too, as well as at your talkpage on commons) where there might be a better chance to get a response.

The message I got in regards to this image was:"There is no evidence the image is taken from the source indicated" and then it states your name as nominator.

"Source" for the image states: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB07t5rElEA at 0:07, cropped"

0:07 on the youtube video is CLEARLY where the image is cropped from, and the video itself is posted to youtube under a CC-license.

What is the problem you have with the photo? I don't understand.

(For reference: the image in question)
