2007 population estimates in U. S. state infoboxes

edit

Hello! I've started a discussion here Talk:New_Mexico#2007_population_figures_in_U._S._state_infobox about your plan to put 2007 population estimates in the U. S. state infoboxes. Please visit there and present your point of view so that we can develop a consensus. Thanks. --Uncia (talk) 01:23, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK, I accept the use of 2007 figures in the infobox. Remember that when you change population figures you need to change population density and possibly density rank too (the next fields in the infobox). --Uncia (talk) 20:36, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

List of U.S. states by population density

edit

In the article List of U.S. states by population density, only figures calculated by the U.S. census bureau are used. If there is a census source that has the updated 2007 density figures, then please provide it. Otherwise, any figures calculated by Wikipedia users will be reverted. Best, epicAdam (talk) 22:47, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The fact that the data is calculated on your own, and is not provided by a census source, may violate WP:OR and WP:VERIFY because it would require a user to look up and then calculate the figures in order to verify them, as opposed to simply checking them against a reputable source. Further, any other users who wish to use that data would be left without an official source as well and would have to trust that whichever user calculated the data did so correctly, an undesirable situation. Having said that, I am not going to personally revert the changes you have made to the page; however, I strongly suggest opening the topic up for discussion on the Talk page to allow other users to comment on the changes. 2007 census updates

edit

Hi Cchow, we're discussing your updates here: Template talk:Infobox U.S. state#2007 Population estimates. I agree with the changes you're making, but wanted to make you aware of the discussion in case you had additional points that we're missing (and since we're discussing your actions). Thanks --JayHenry (talk) 12:54, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

About Virginia, I have it using the 2006 data because that includes ethnicity, economic, and language information that wasn't listed in the 2007 data, which was used for poverty estimates. I don't want the article to have one number in the infobox and a different number in the text (I was criticised for an example of this in the failed FAC), even if it is a year different from other states' articles.--Patrick Ѻ 13:12, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

World economy

edit

Hello-I undid your recent change to World economy because it didn't have references. That makes it hard for me to tell if you're one of those really annoying vandals who goes around changing details, or (as is more likely) making a needed update to the article. I know the whole article is badly referenced, but if you're adding new material hopefully you have your sources at hand and citing them won't be hard. Sorry for the hassle. Looks great now, thanks! CRETOG8(t/c) 17:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Goldman Sach's newest projections of nominal GDP in 2050.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Goldman Sach's newest projections of nominal GDP in 2050.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:03, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gold Typhoon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AOA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of countries by past and future GDP (PPP) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
