CHU bot

I left a note at the "Cluebot commons" but it was archived before you saw it.

It would be extremely helpful if ClueBot IV could check to see if either username is in the log of previously renamed users, and list any usernames similar to the target (possibly using a phonetic algorithm). The Uninvited Co., Inc. 01:31, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Bot appears to be editing whilst logged out. –xenotalk 21:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Came here about the same thing. Cobi, please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Bot editing as IP. Unless you can fix this problem in a cleaner way, please use "assert" to make sure the bot is logged in before editing. Cheers, - Kingpin13 (talk) 00:05, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Came here from an IRC report. Given the non-essential nature of the bot and that it has been blocked in the past for this, I disabled it but not blocked, feel free to re-enable it yourself when fixed. Snowolf How can I help? 02:53, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
This could be due to the breaking change to the MediaWiki API login action. Also, you could just check the value of the edit token received instead of using "assert". If the bot is logged out, then the edit token received will just be +\ with no hex string instead of 00000000000000000000000000000000+\, which is what is returned for logged in users. Hope this helps. Set Sail For The Seven Seas 284° 53' 14" NET 18:59, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
The bot did not respect the disable, hence I blocked it. As I said in the block log, Cobi is free to unblock it himself once the issue is fixed. Snowolf How can I help? 04:20, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
The bot has a valid edit token. The server just occasionally forgets that the cookie is valid. Which is annoying. I fixed the login code and I added the assert and I anon-only blocked it's IP. It shouldn't have this problem again. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 03:40, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

cluebot paper

url http://24.40.131.153/ClueBot.pdf linked from your userpage doesn't work. Maybe you can upload the paper to your userspace, if licensing permits? Otherwise maybe you can put it on arxiv.org or someplace like that. 66.127.52.47 (talk) 02:52, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

And heh, while looking for it, I came across this. 66.127.52.47 (talk) 19:36, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

And this. 66.127.52.47 (talk) 19:43, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

I updated the link. The new link is http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/~carter11/ClueBot.pdf. Thanks. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 02:10, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

What happened in this ClueBot archive fail?

Here (warning, big diff). I thought the bot was supposed to undo its own edit when it fails, but it appears to have pasted something completely new. It was also a problem because it added the archive template to the page, so this archive was itself archived, also. Gary King (talk) 01:05, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

ClueBot

I just wanted to tell you that ClueBot does an awesome job. Great work developing it! --Tommy2010 12:45, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi

I just wanted to let you know that this wasn't intentional, I just fixed it, my apologies for not lacking behind on 'how to edit,' thank you for understanding. Chairrrs (talk) 19:44, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

ClueBot II is down

Just wanted to give you a heads up. -- œ 08:44, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

fix your stupid bot

How is that vandalism? "redirecting article to non-existant page" that blatantly existed. Oh and FYI it's "existent" with an "e". 144.32.126.12 (talk) 10:16, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Click the link and follow the instructions on the bots edit summary. He'll fix it/check it out if you do that.. --LcawteHuggle (talk) 10:17, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
No I looked at those pages and they clearly haven't been read for years. 144.32.126.12 (talk) 14:51, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Made good, edit, then could not report it!

I added information for KFTL-TV's article containing public, unencrypted free-air satellite coordinates where the station could be viewed under the section for "repeaters", and the bot flagged it for being "obscene/vandalism". When I tried to report it, I clicked "submit" and was told "'code' => 'blocked','info' => 'You have been blocked from editing'! Well, what kind of system is that? I was trying to add some useful information, told it was somehow "obscene", then blocked from reporting the mistake!! Bobzajko (talk) 18:43, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
