Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, CostasF79. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page 100 Marathon Club, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 20:56, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Bobb23,
- I must admit, I am shocked by your claims and insinuations.
- I merely edit the 100 Marathon Club U.K. to avoid any confusion with any other Running Clubs worldwide.
- Yet, you deleted all of my entries that I have worked so hard for.
- As you could also see, there was no advertising, no publishing, no promoting or anything else related to marketing, other than the 100 Marathon Club itself and its contribution to running. CostasF79 (talk) 21:35, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- The only article you have ever edited is the 100 Marathon Club, and the entire article is nothing but an advertisement. Do not edit it again. If you want to propose changes to the article, you must use the article Talk page and other editors will evaluate whether the change is appropriate.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:54, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- But my interest is in running and you just went on to delete a whole page claiming that it is advertisement.
- The 100 Marathon Club has a historical significance to it and it is one of the oldest Running Clubs.
- It was created to avoid any confusion and to be a platform for others to read about it.
- If you read it through, you'd have noticed that it is appropriately cited and referenced.
- How could you do such a thing and not considering the emotional and historical damage that you've caused? CostasF79 (talk) 21:58, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
100 Marathon Club.
editI have had my entry for the 100 Marathon Club deleted by Bbb23. I believe that he acted without any consideration, reading through, and made unsubstantiated allegations that my entry was somewhat advertisement. There was nothing advertised, marketed and my entry was a focal historical point of the Running World.
I would appreciate if you could please restore my article on the 100 Marathon Club. CostasF79 (talk) 22:02, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
