Disambiguation link notification for April 8
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tom Lawday, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Dorchester and England national rugby team. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:13, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
CS1 error on Neil Spence (rugby union)
editHello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Neil Spence (rugby union), may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:
- A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 22:24, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
Dubai Exiles RFC moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Dubai Exiles RFC, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:15, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
editHello Curtis82! Your additions to Dubai Exiles RFC have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 21:58, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Categorisation of articles
editHey, I see you've been busy creating a few articles on rugby union recently. Just so you know, the sport's main category (Category:Rugby union) is only for articles that cover the sport in a very general way and provide a foundational understanding of the sport. It's not appropriate to categorise individual players in that category, such as Alin Conache. Please remember this going forward. Thanks. – PeeJay 13:07, 23 August 2023 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Benjamin Saunders (rugby union)
editHello Curtis82, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Benjamin Saunders (rugby union), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Benjamin Saunders (rugby union).
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Flags in infoboxes
editHi Curtis82, thanks for your edits on rugby union players and articles. They are much appreciated. One note of point though, please stop adding flags to infoboxes for player and other articles. It violates MOS:INFOBOXFLAG. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 20:17, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with Rugbyfan22's comment and was about to post the same thing. Curtis82 (talk) would you, please, be so kind to remove the flag icons in all the articles where you added them to infoboxes? I already undid your edits to one player biography, before I discovered that you've added flag icons to many more articles in breach of MOS:INFOBOXFLAG. Ruggalicious (talk) 23:33, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Curtis82, two months ago you were kindly asked to remove the flags from infoboxes where you had added them in breach of MOS:INFOBOXFLAG, as pointed out by Rugbyfan22. I notice you have not done this, so I'm asking you again to please remove those incorrectly added flag icons. Don't expect others to correct the mistakes you've made if you are aware of those mistakes. Thanks, Ruggalicious (talk) 21:49, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
