Admin userboxes

edit

Dario vet, I removed the three admin userboxes from your userpage because they were causing you to be listed in Category:Wikipedia administrators. Please don't use them anyway because the links on "is" and "administrator" lead to the en WP sysop log and the en WP Administrators page. This could be very confusing and misleading for editors. Thanks, Sarah Ewart 18:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Interiot's edit counter doesn't work for the English Wikipedia, because the English Wikipedia database is not copied to the toolserver database. You can use Interiot's wannabe_kate counter instead for the English Wikipedia. Cheers, Tangotango 09:47, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

File:In-the-dark.jpg

Thank you for voting in my RfA which at 51/20/6 unfortunately did not achieve consensus. In closing the nomination, Essjay remarked that it was one of the better discussed RfAs seen recently and I would like to thank you and all others who chose to vote for making it as such. It was extremely humbling to see the large number of support votes, and the number of oppose votes and comments will help me to become stronger. I hope to run again for adminship soon. Thank you all once more. Wikiwoohoo 19:34, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which did not succeed and was closed early at 2/10/9. I am not discouraged, however, and will use the experience to improve my skills until a later date when I may succeed. Yuser31415 20:38, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your support on my successful Request for Adminship (final result 78 Support /0 Oppose / 1 Neutral) I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months. I am humbled by your kind support and would certainly welcome any feedback on my actions. Please do not hesitate to contact me. Once again, many thanks and happy new year! All the best, Asteriontalk 16:00, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your support

edit

Thank you for your support in the RfA on my behalf. It is an honor to have received your expression of confidence. To be chosen as an administrator requires a high level of confidence by a broad section of the community. Although I received a great deal of support, at this time I do not hold the level of confidence required, and the RfA did not pass. It is my wish that I will continue to deserve your confidence. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 20:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Admin userbox

edit

The admin userbox is for people who are admins on the En WP. Please stop putting it on your userpage. If you continue, you risk having other edits rolled back at the same time because I'm not going to waste my time examining each edit individually when you have been asked repeatedly to stop trying to use it. Sarah 08:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have no objections to you using those two boxes you made. Thankyou, Sarah 12:57, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have no problem with it being used on the Italian wiki. It would require a few changes to deal with local page names, but nothing big. Please find me a trusted Italian bot operator who speaks English and have him give me an email. Dragons flight 05:02, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

My Request for Adminship

Thank you for your support in my my RfA, which passed with a tally of 117/0/1. I hope that my conduct as an admin lives up to the somewhat flattering confidence the community has shown in me. Please don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page should you need anything or want to discuss something with me. I have been one of the most active admins on Commons, and will turn the same attitude to work to my en duties :)--Nilfanion (talk) 22:55, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Automated message to bot owners

edit

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

My RfA

edit
Thank you for your support in my my recent RfA in which I withdrew because the oppose votes were almost equalling the supporters. I then decided to leave my account (Tellyaddict) and start fresh under a new username, however I quickly decided to reconsider after another user persuaded me not to leave the account - I am now glad I did reconsider because leaving that account and creating a new one was too hasty so I've decided to improve rather than starting again! I hope we can remain civil and that there were no negative feelings caused. Again, thanks for your support even though I withdrew it, your vote is much appreciated! I need help renaming about 200 articles. Doing this by hand would take me all day.

Can your bot rename articles, or be adapted to do so?

If so, please contact me.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
