Speedy deletion nomination of Edison Partners

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Edison Partners requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Edison Partners

edit

Dnyc:

First off, just to be clear, I did not delete the Edison Partners page myself; I don't have the ability to delete pages. I merely tagged it for review by someone who does have that ability. They deleted it. Having said that, if you want to build a page on that company, I suggest you:

  • Go through the process shown at WP:REFUND, where you can arrange to have the article as you wrote it undeleted and put into your personal editing space (rather than into the body of the encyclopedia).
  • Read over WP:NCORP, our guidelines for what is considered appropriate notability for including an article on a company.
  • Edit the page so that someone reading the page can see that that company has the notability that WP:NCORP calls for.
  • Drop a message on my talk page - I'll look over what you have, suggest any tips I might have, and if all looks good, help you move the article into the encyclopedia. (That doesn't guarantee that someone else won't challenge it, but we can probably get it to the stage where it can withstand such a challenge.)

I hope that helps, and thank you for choosing to help build Wikipedia! --Nat Gertler (talk) 14:52, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Flybridge Capital Partners, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SAIC. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
