Ekusher Shonkolon

edit
  • 'Ekusher Shongkolon'80:Smriticharon', first published in 1980 from Bangla Academy, Dhaka. there is no author is mentioned in this book as it's like a Smriticharon of many. No editor either. But published from Bangla Academy speaks for it's reliablity.
  • Purbo-Banglar Bhasha Andolon O Totkalin Rajniti is written by Badruddin Umar, Volume 1, Second Edition and published in 1979, publisher-Agamee Prakashani.

there are still a couple of books. I'll try to get information about them. Tarif from Bangladesh 12:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: the following needed

edit

Hi, beginning with an apology. I am sorry that I haven't been too hands on in improving the article. And, well, congratulations on the great work. With Ragib mostly and Nirav totally inactive it must have been one hell of a tough job. I have taken a look at you questions to Tarif, and I guess I can answer a few. Here goes:

  1. Bangladesher Swadhinotajuddher Dolilpotro edited by Hasan Hafizur Rahman, published by the Information Ministry of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, in 1982.
  2. Azad was a daily newspaper, and I'm not sure if we can call it The Azad.
  3. For the key resolution I can offer another source - Morning News (that's another daily newspaper), December 7, 1947
  4. The Education Conference happened not 1948, but in December, 1947.
  5. The news of the first Shahid Minar was published in Azad, dated 25.02.1952, but I need to check that again.

Keep the good work going. Finally, I have some new comments to make based on the books I have gone through (including the the History of Bangladesh published by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, the same people who published the Banglapedia) shows serious gaps in information. I am posting on the FAC page. Cheers. Aditya Kabir 14:44, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

sorry for late

edit

sorry I was offline for couple of hours and couldn't supply those info to you. Hopefully I am on now. Anything more to do? Tarif from Bangladesh 17:58, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ekusher Shongkolon was published in 1956 from Dhaka. It was a magazine. The editors were D. A. Rashid and Mohiuddin Ahmed. The information was taken from D. A. Rashid's essay named Ekusher Diary Tarif from Bangladesh 18:18, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I saw the book at public library. I had the information but just can get it at the moment. I think the same citation can be given from Bashir Al Helal or Umar's book. I can do that. Is that ok? So tell about me about the place (in the article, I mean the line) where it should be given. Tarif from Bangladesh 18:36, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

1...I did not manage to get info about the Kobir book. But I have given citation to the same information that the book is linked with. In fact the Azad citation which I have given is the most reliable source for the incident of February 21(specially). Bashir Al Helal mentioned that every author followed the report of Azad in describing the incidents of February 21 and he himself simply copy-pest the report straightaway in his book . So we are safe to use this and you can delete the citation of the book. I will include that if I can get those info later.

2...A mistake is done as the proceedings at the parliament on February 21 are placed under the heading February 22. Banglapedia must be wrong about it. Not to be confused with the fact that proceedings did actually went on both of the days, the particular which is talked about in the article is actually occured on February 21. I have also given the citation of that.

3... I have discussed about Ohiullah and Salauddin on FAC page. Please read that and take your measures. Now If you excuse me, I can go to bed. Thanks. Tarif from Bangladesh 22:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

What I've got

edit
"Ekusher Shonkolon, 1956" is the citation for "Demonstrations broke out on the night of February 21, with various halls of the University of Dhaka raising black flags in mourning." The citation is incomplete. Either provide details (publisher -Bangla Academy? and year), or cite some other source (Al Helal's bbok?).

Ok, this could be found at Bashir Al Helal's book from pp.604-609. I have cited that in the article.

However, if you have the copies of the newspapers, I'd request to collect more information, such as the name of the article, page number, publisher etc.

May be I can find some of these, I'll let you know when I am done. Regards Tarif from Bangladesh 09:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I may find a few more. I'll keep trying. Ragib bhai asked I would suggest checking Google news archive search feature, and searching US/UK newspapers of 1952 (which may call it Riot in Pakistan / dacca etc.) You can try this too. Thanks. Tarif from Bangladesh 10:12, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Chang.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Chang.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 11:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:Allan.gif

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Allan.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 16:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good job, but...

edit

Well, forgive me for playing the devil's advocate, and actually making little contribution. But, the expanded part of the legacy section on Language movement, although very nice and, to my knowledge, accurate as well, seems to be poorly sourced/cited/referenced. While Amar Bahiaer Rokte Rangano may pass as common knowledge, the rest may not have advantage to claim the same. That was the reason I kept that part simple and without much detail. May be Tarif can help citing some references there. Cheers. Aditya Kabir 17:35, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, no... don't revert. It looks very nice. I hope it can be referenced in a day or something. And, oh, I'm sure that you have noticed that I have just one opposition left - the copy. Give it another go, and may be we can convince Tony and Mark of the article's quality. Aditya Kabir 17:46, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

By the way Kyoko said that the Legacy section needs a lot of work. Did she mean about copyediting or adding more info. If more info is needed please let me know. I was thinking about expanding the depiction article within a few week. But if needed Imay try to get some more info to it. Please let me know. Language Movement

edit

In regards to my comment, I do not feel it has been addressed. Regardless, I don't feel like it matters significantly enough to oppose, though I haven't read the article to support, so unless I do get around to reading it, I'll stay mute on the FAC. However, regarding my concern, why is it that the dates are in such a disarray. Some of the dates are not wikilinked, some the dates are wikilinked, but force the user to view it as DD Month, and some of the dates are wikilinked and allow the date preferences to figure itself out. This seems to me that the editors of the article has no understanding of why dates are wikilinked. Pepsidrinka 13:28, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've wikilinked all the dates according to your suggestion. But I have a couple of question to you-- 1. Should we link the same date all the time? Or may be one for each year (e.g. If 1954 has two, should we link one or both). 2. Some places years are also linked. Should we link the others or remove link from them? Please look into those and provide answers to me or probably can you take initiatives to solve these. Regards --Tarif from Bangladesh 20:43, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA review of Religion in India

edit

Hi, i reviewed the article and found that there has been significant work on the article from your end. As much as there was work, i strongly believe there is a lot more potential left on the table and that is the main reason why I failed the GA for lack of comprehensive-ness in the article. This is no way a representation of your efforts, just that the topic under consideration is very vast. I believe that the topic is FA-worthy and if you work on this for somemore time, you shall reach the level. Ping me in case you want addln feedback. --Kalyan 11:13, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
