Radio in Brazil moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Radio in Brazil, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. editHello, I'm Meters. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction, such as your addition to user talk:49.177.30.125. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Your posts on this IP's talk page were completely inappropriate. IPs are allowed to edit. Users do not have to have a named account. You are not a checkuser, and there is no suggestion that a checkuser has looked a this IP. You are not an admin and cannot block them. Meters (talk) 06:48, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- This issue has been raised at the TeaHouse at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Please help: I found this message scary and a bit threatening. I suggest that you apologize to the IP and explain yourself there. Meters (talk) 08:57, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
I'm sorry Wikipedia user Meters. But in the article about the S&P 500 index, he said that "it is a stock market index that tracks 500 large companies". So I was replaced on "made up of".
In his talk page, he replaced the sentence from his lead, saying that "The S&P 500 is a tool or method to do the tracking, so the index's constituent parts are the data, the processes used to select the data, and the statistical operations applied, not the 500 companies."
When he is dared to edit, IP user 49.177.30.125 revised all the time. But, I am NOT an admin. Please, I wish someone wants to block "49.177.30.125". Thx ExpandD2003 (talk) 09:44, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Looking at the IP's history I only see they edited the article page of S&P 500 once and it was an edit made in good faith from what I can tell. I don't see enough there to block them but you are always free to request one and I am sure an admin would look into it. I would caution the editor, however, against harrassment of other editors, even IP's, and to always assume good faith or there may be a "curved stick" coming back at them if they do decide to petition for a block. Those things can be very pointy. --ARoseWolf 13:14, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Public apology and final message.
editI am bullying with this IP address? Well, this is my public apology. I warned you that I was editing several times. When my mentor meters cautioned me out of harassment. Wikipedia hates at that time. And now, for the last time. I'm outta here right now. Goodbye. See you next time. I'm going to logout now.
- That is not the approach we wanted from you. I know I had hoped you would evaluate your responses and make alterations. From what Meters wrote above I gather that was their intent as well. The choice is yours to take this situation as a learning experience and continue to grow. The encyclopedia needs good editors but we also need to foster an environment that is welcoming and inviting to potentially new editors so long as policies and rules are followed. I hope you will reconsider and continue to edit but with a little more restraint centered around the good faith aspect of editing. Take a break and get some fresh air. Come back as soon as you feel ready. We will still be here. :) --ARoseWolf 15:46, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- ExpandD2003, you made inappropriate posts to and IP's talk page and the IP brought it up at the TeaHouse. I am in no way your mentor. Meters (talk) 20:22, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Grammar edits
editExpandD2003, it is certainly true that nobody wants to see you leave. However, it would be more helpful for the encyclopedia if you stopped making edits/revisions related to English grammar. Too many of the changes you have made have added errors to text that was correct before, for instance [1], [2], [3], and [4]. Other edits changed the phrasing from one correct version to another, equally correct version, but with an edit summary claiming that there was a grammar error: [5] (which is neither grammar nor syntax), [6], [7]. It looks like English is probably not your first language – that is not a problem, English Wikipedia has plenty of editors with other native languages (I am one of them), but right now, your command of English isn't quite strong enough for you to be able to spot and fix language errors. There are many other important tasks that need to be done, so there is no need for you to stop editing, and I'm sure you will find other, equally rewarding ways to improve the encyclopedia. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 18:49, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. Well, I had been edited for once. I will improve my encyclopedic skills for not using corrections. I am the first to revise anything that can edit. Well, in the words of Forrest Gump, "life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get". ExpandD2003 (talk) 23:16, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Again, please do not make edits such as this one. The sentence was perfectly fine before, but your edit added an incorrect "the" (the network provides news, not some specific news). The removal of a couple of words, and the addition of "content" in your next edit, neither improved nor worsened the sentence. Your edit summaries make no sense at all. Maybe it would be more constructive for you to contribute to a Wikipedia in a language you are more fluent in? What is your native language(s)? --bonadea contributions talk 09:11, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
