File:Universal Classic Monsters logo.jpg

edit

Hi Fastily. File:Universal Classic Monsters logo.jpg is another overwritten file in which the latest updated version seems to be "PD-logo", but the older version is probably borderline "Non-free logo". -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:22, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Marchjuly. Thanks for letting me know. I've split the file into File:Universal Classic Monsters logo 1.jpg & File:Universal Classic Monsters logo.jpg. Regards, Fastily 09:21, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for doing that. -- Marchjuly (talk) 19:31, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can you check this please?

Special:Diff/1240600996/prev, they have removed the administrator box but left the rollback box. Also, looking at their edits, they don't appear to be a new user? I'm not sure there is much we can do about that? Knitsey (talk) 09:28, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Knitsey. I have warned the editor and removed the userbox from their userpage. Barring CU evidence, no, unless they start behaving disruptively. Regards, Fastily 09:37, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host

edit

Dear Fastily,

I would like to inquire as to why my homepage was deleted. Although I did put external links to my profile, that is to merely establish credibility to my edits. May I therefore ask what are the limits to this? I ask this because I see other homepages which do more than what I did - they listed universities where they finished their degrees, etc. What I merely did was insert my professional autobiography, and cited my external pages.

I hope this can be clarified.

Thank you. JMPLuga (talk) 16:41, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

(talk page watcher). @JMPLuga:. Which ones? I'll have a look. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:08, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
FWIW, Wikipedia user pages are not home pages. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:09, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

File:Thomas Hui To.png

edit

Hi Fastily. I'm not sure what the uploader of File:Thomas Hui To.png is trying to do, but they've reuploaded the file you deleted per F9 to Commons as File:Thomas Hui.png and then added the Commons file to the empty file page. They also seem to have declared a connection to Draft:Thomas Hui To on their user page so maybe they've think that makes it OK to upload the image. -- 11:06, 18 August 2024 (UTC) Marchjuly (talk) 11:06, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Marchjuly. It definitely doesn't make it ok. Both the enwp file and commons file have since been deleted. I don't think anything needs to be done about the draft at the moment; it's not great, but it's not evil to the point where it can't be reaped in 6 months via G13. -Fastily 03:50, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for taking a look at this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:40, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of The Morning Context

edit

Hey Fastily,

I'm a new wiki editor and created a page for The Morning Context. Another editor moved it to drafts for better sourcing and neutral language, but it was deleted within minutes before I could try to fix anything on it. What can I do to fix this? Thanks! SageRoot29 (talk) 11:47, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

(talk page watcher). @SageRoot29: It is at Draft:The Morning Context. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:17, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @Deepfriedokra! I'll look into why it was pushed to drafts by trying to get clarity from the editor. SageRoot29 (talk) 14:29, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of the Konectin Content

edit

Hey Fastily,

I'm a new editor and one of my practice page was deleted, I saw a blog about a startup in Africa and rewrote it on wiki citing the source, I wanted to know what was actually wrong, I quite understand the reason tagged by you, but what could have been done better?

Below is the page .....

Konectin is a vibrant startup that is reshaping professional networking in Africa, focusing on enhancing connections and fostering collaborations that drive social and economic progress. This platform not only connects individuals and organizations across various sectors but also aims to build a community that supports careergrowth through shared knowledge and innovative solutions.

(talk page watcher) @Damilareintuitive: Hmm. This reads more like promotion that an undeletion request. 😥. In reviewing the deleted sandbox, I see that it was promotional in tone and met the criteria for speedy deletion noted by fastly. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:31, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
