editHello, FrankVonPedro, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

Please note that I am talking about your edits to French people and Italian people, where your changes to the population numbers contradict the sources used in the articles. LovesMacs (talk) 15:46, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures) please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Rrburke(talk) 17:46, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:06, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Your edits
editHello, I believe you misunderstood my message. You have changed the population of French people per country several times: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. You also did the same thing with the Italian people article. The original population numbers for each country in both articles came from various respected sources.
The reason why so many people have been leaving you messages is that you have been changing the population numbers in these articles without citing a reliable source to back up your edits. LovesMacs (talk) 14:35, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

- Hello, I think you still misunderstand my point. Let's take the population for France in the article French people as an example. You repeatedly changed the population from 64,303,000 to 60,303,000, despite what it says in the cited source.
- While many of the people in that 64 million figure will be immigrants, the introduction of this Wikipedia article states that "French people" can refer to "The legal citizens and residents of France" or "People whose ancestors lived in France or the area that later became France". I interpret that definition as including immigrants for the purposes of this article. LovesMacs (talk) 16:09, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, I don't know why those specific definitions were used for French people. Your questions should get some wider input at the talk page of the article, which is here. Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 18:46, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
