Article for review

Please review the Draft:Aashid :) MacKenzie007 (talk) 14:39, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

MacKenzie007 I don't review drafts, but it looks like the subject falls very short of Wikipedia's notability guidelines and therefore should not be published. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:41, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

I have a doubt, Why some schools have Wikipedia page without any citations MacKenzie007 (talk) 15:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Joan Fleming disambiguation

Dear GPL93, thanks for taking a look at the draft article I created: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Joan_Fleming I absolutely understand why creating 'autobiography' articles is strongly discouraged! My push for creating this page is because when "Joan Fleming" is plugged into Google and other search engines, more often than not a photo of me is attached to the wikipedia entry for the 'other' Joan Fleming, a deceased British writer of crime novels, whereas I am a living poet and author of three books. I had hoped that a wiki entry for me would help with this disambiguation. If after review the article is deemed 'not notable' then I will of course submit to the wikipedia rules, they are there for good reason. Cheers, Joan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wellhellojoan (talkcontribs) 04:40, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

@Wellhellojoan: Thank you for understanding and I totally get wanting to disambiguate. You can also request an article and if someone deems you meet either WP:GNG or WP:CREATIVE someone will write an article. Even if deemed not to meet standards, please know that is in no way a permanent rejection as and you could very well meet guidelines in the future (WP:TOOSOON). Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:27, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Nate Becker

The article Nate Becker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Routine sports coverage, until he actually plays for the Bills (or another NFL team), and not just on their practice squad, he fails WP:NGRIDIRON.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 13:46, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

@Onel5969: Becker actually made his debut on January 3, 2021. For whatever reason, NFL.com now does not list games played until the player records a statistic. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:03, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Help with conflict of interest disclosure

Hi GPL93, Thank you for your message! I was hoping for some help with meeting the conflict of interest regulations for my draft Draft:Arctoris. I have made a disclosure on my user page User:Sirotcra2016. Will this be enough to meet the regulations? Thank you for your help! Sirotcra2016 (talk) 14:50, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Messages re: COVID-19 updates and COI

Thank you for your message. I'm actually procrastinating on another project by being productive here, I got myself turned around a few times in trying to create the relevant pages but I'm getting the hang of it now. I apologize if I created additional work for you, and I'll make sure to update the COI info. The topic is fairly niche, and I know most of the folks working on the various datasets so I'll need definitely need to disclose. I do want to reassure you that everything is on the up-and-up: I'm not getting paid and I've already added several top-tier verifiable sources to one of the pages (e.g. Axios, HHS.gov, San Francisco Chronicle, a Congressional letter). I will be doing the same for the other page I created (e.g. San Francisco Chronicle, Politico, WSJ, WSB-TV). — Preceding unsigned comment added by WeknowdisWiki (talkcontribs) 15:30, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Kindly check to see if I addressed your concerns?

Hi there - thanks again for your feedback. I just resubmitted the following article: Draft:Coders_Against_COVID I also included a COI statement in talk section of the article and on my user talk page.

Would you kindly take a quick look to ensure that I've properly understood and addressed your concerns?

After reading the COI pages, I'm still confused as to how to proceed. This is a niche knowledge domain and I'm a Subject Matter Expert (SME). This means that I personally know many (most?) individuals working in this space. If I'm not getting compensated in any way, and I'm doing this to fill some time. I'm not sure where the conflict exists.

Thanks for your earlier review. Also thanks in advance for your time. WeknowdisWiki (talk) 19:35, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Some sources, like government websites and AskHN or Github, don't appear to be notability lending either. As for reliable coverage, it must be in-depth and not a passing mention like it is in the TechCrunch article. I'm not entirely sure if the remaining coverage meets WP:GNG or WP:NORG, but the page reviewer should give feedback on what is needed sourcing-wise. COI isn't solely applicable to being paid, but when we write about people we know/organizations that we are close with we tend to show less objectivity, even if we are doing our best to remain unbiased which is why we use the draft submission process for review (Which I'd recommend to someone starting out as an editor anyway). Best, GPL93 (talk) 20:15, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
The additional links you provided are especially helpful. The table with the pass/fail example in WP:NORG is great. Again: I'm sorry if I caused headaches as that was not my intention. Thanks again. WeknowdisWiki (talk) 23:07, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

I have published three articles, can you help me with the articles by proofreading. One of the articles has some claims, please me to resolve the issue. Thank you. Mohirfan03 (talk) 11:13, 7 February 2021 (IST)

@Mohirfan03: If you had actually read the links in the welcome message, you would know that you have to submit articles as a draft if you are paid to write them and about notability standards. The article should be deleted and I have voted to delete. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Concern regarding Draft:Ken Benson

Hello, GPL93. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Ken Benson, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Bot0612 (talk) 01:38, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Fatima sheikh

I recently got message from you that I had edited this Fatima sheikh page as a personal rage but that edit wasn't personal it was historical facts. Starlordnikhil (talk) 22:13, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Starlordnikhil it is a completely unreferenced addition and also not written in adherence to WP:NPOV. Continuing to violate policies will likely result in a topic ban or block. Best, GPL93 (talk) 22:16, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

This entire article of Fatima sheikh is Baseless all the edits I did was historically accurate why don't you just put this page of Fatima sheikh for review or fact check Starlordnikhil (talk) 22:21, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Starlordnikhil the onus would be on you to provide reliable references for a change and even then the tone used is completely unacceptable. Best, GPL93 (talk) 22:24, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

How do you refer historical fact to the completely made up imaginary characters page so that admins ego get satisfied with it and page gets deletes forever. Starlordnikhil (talk) 22:51, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Starlordnikhil Well, there appears to be a reliable source from an academic publication currently and you haven't provided any reliable sourcing to support your edits. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:01, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

I just read the academic publication referred in Fatima sheikh page it contains no one called Fatima sheikh in it so now what Starlordnikhil (talk) 23:23, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Starlordnikhil She's mentioned 5 times in the pages that are accessible. You can say it's not fact as much as you want, You have shown absolutely zero reliable sourcing to support completely revamping an article. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:35, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

So basically what you are saying is to me that to show you reference about Fatima or this page that's never ever existed. Please check all those reference because I had checked all of then none of them have any person or event of Fatima sheikh so how can I refer you a non existent referal please help me here Starlordnikhil (talk) 01:00, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

If there are no sources supporting what you are saying then I'm sorry but you are out of luck. A Google Scholar search shows some hits on the subject of the article as well and they sure don't seem to be about how she isn't real. At this point, I recommend asking for help at Wikipedia:Teahouse as I don't know how much more plainly I can explain this to you. Best, GPL93 (talk) 01:15, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

PLEASE REPLY

Hey can you please see the page Draft: AzzyLand First it was denied because i didn't added references but not ot has Sources like BUSINESS INSIDER CBC and many more 119.158.51.228 (talk) 05:14, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Tahj Eaddy

Hi GPL93, apologies for the random message. I came across your profile while reading through Jalen Crutcher article. I was reviewing Tahj Eaddy page, where the subject is a college basketball player and therefore does not pass WP:NBASKETBALL. Most sources used in the article are local sources that are independent of the subject, but some are mostly providing routine game coverage so I'm unsure if it meets WP:GNG. Since you are experienced with basketball articles, I'd really appreciate if you could take a look. Thank you. --Ashleyyoursmile! 18:15, 23 February 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hasan Hamid

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hasan Hamid, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. TAXIDICAE💰 14:35, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Self Promotion

The page you speak to was not recreated. It was created and modified accordingly. Millions of academics promote themselves on Wkipedia. All the same, my page has been modified (not by me) and if you look you will see that. What is below is a perfectly acceptable article following strict wkipedia guidlines. Millions have articles such as these. If you block it, you have an issue with Damelin and this is obvious and will be dealt with by the University of Michigan.

Regarding Disclosure of Multiple Accounts and the "Promotional" Aspect of A Recent Page Creation

These are both my accounts, yes. I am brand new to Wikipedia and trying to post this page for a college class project. Because I chose my first username as one that mimicked the title of the page (without realizing this was a violation), I thought that I might need to create a different username and post there instead. I'm not associated with this company, I'm just trying to get this listed and can't figure out what possible part of the article is "promotional" considering all of the sources are legitimate, most are from third parties, and all reliable. I am confused by what Wikipedia is looking for and I don't know how to proceed from here. All I know is that I spent quite some time putting this article together and it keeps getting removed but I have no details as to why that is. PenPalFL2CT (talk) 17:01, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

@PenPalFL2CT: Most of the referencing is not reliable by Wikipedia's standards or considered WP:SIGCOV. All reliable sourcing are one off passing mentions and interviews generally don't count towards notability. Until more significant coverage by reliable sources are included notability will not be established. I'd recommend working on the initial draft and also make it sound less like something CannaMD's website would publish or a brochure you would find at a doctor's office. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:20, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
@PenPalFL2CT: Actually, why don't you cut the "college project" bs and disclose your relationship with CannaMD given you pretty clearly work for them. Best, GPL93 (talk) 18:59, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Wow, what an incredibly rude response. I didn't expect this kind of sarcasm from Wikipedia moderators. Yes, during my undergrad I would write articles for various companies to make side money - which is where I got the idea to use this brand in the first place as I noticed that they were Florida-based (a requirement for the subject matter I was to create) who didn't have a page yet. If you have any further concerns or sarcastic remarks to make regarding my Wikipedia submissions, please feel free to direct them to my academic email address at: mckenzielewis@knights.ucf.edu. PenPalFL2CT (talk) 19:41, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

@PenPalFL2CT: A) that is crystal clear COI that you did not disclose and PhilKnight may not have unblocked you even with a renaming had that been known; B) a quick offsite search with the information you have provided shows that you are employed by Canna MD still in a marketing capacity (as well as in the SEO business); C) I'm not an Administrator. Your contributed article, Shariful Islam Naik

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Shariful Islam Naik. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Zakir Naik. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Zakir Naik. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. YODADICAE👽 16:06, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Draftifying Sreehari rajesh

Hi GPL93, I was wondering what exactly made you believe that this topic "is plausibly notable" per WP:DRAFTIFY to move it from Mainspace to Draft and to remove my PROD Nomination. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:57, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: Apologies, I hadn't noticed that another draft already existed. I will rollback my edits and reinstate the PROD. Best, GPL93 (talk) 18:13, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello and thank your for your help!

Hello GPL93. I am new to Wikipedia - not as user, but as a collaborator. I made a page Vilovka, because I understood I should have a reference page for the data and pages I am writing, but it seems I was wrong. I didn't want to break any policies or else. Actually, I was trying to write about a TV show for children on regional television in Serbia I am also part of as an author, "Stonogica brojalica". I created it a year ago, somebody deleted it by saying this TV show is only "one season old". Now it has 28 shows and 10 more in making. How can I create it and nobody deletes it? There were no sentences of quality of the show or anything else, just pure fact, who did what and when it started airing etc. I hope you can help me with this and I hope this is a good way to contact you. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vilovka (talkcontribs) 18:11, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Christian Franklin

The article Christian Franklin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable baseball player who does not meet WP:BASEBALL/N

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. my created page Hemant N Mishra was rejected, may I know the reason and what are to be updated to get that approved?

Hello my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Design_for_Change had been rejected after a request for publication. I did specify my conflict of interest in my talk page (I intern for the organisation). All the content is there, could I request you to please make it attuned to encyclopaedic language? I tried my best to avoid peacock terms but I feel like I've hit a roadblock and I would hate to keep resubmitting imperfect articles and then getting banned from publishing. You had posted on my talk page on the 4th of May and that's how I located your account. If it is still possible could I receive some help in editing the content?

Hello, you deleted my draft essay for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Design_for_Change. I had requested help to better the essay... seems like it was irreparable. Would it be possible for a wikipedia editor to write it from ground up? I can assure you it's a notable organisation. I would love to communicate with you further on the subject.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Alex Wilson70

Dear Mr/Ms, On 25.05.2021 a tag was placed on my user page Alex Wilson70, requesting that it be speedily deleted as it did not conform to Wikipedia's guidelines. Following your instructions, I would like to retrieve the deleted material for future improvement, fully compliant with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. All your suggestions about what I should do in order not to violate the Wikipedia rules are warmly welcomed! Best regards.

@Alex Wilson70: I nominated the page, but ultimately an administrator makes the final decision and deletes. I recommend reaching out to either Explicit or Jimfbleak about retrieving the deleted content. I also recommend reading the policies cited from Jimfbleak's deletion: WP:YFA, WP:RS, WP:COI, and WP:Notability (people). It's probably best that, if retrieved, you submit via Wikipedia:Articles for creation and not on your user page (see the previous note entitled "User Page" for more info). I would like to contest the speedy deletion because as far as I can tell the article subject is notable (in my opinion, unambiguously so) under WP:GNG. The article subject has several notable external sources and won notable awards such as the Summer Company Award by the Government of Ontario. The article appears to have been declined in the process of review; due to elements of advertisement and lack of neutral perspective since then, the article has been edited by me into the neutral tone and has been resolved under the WP:SPIP and the subject has no external links spammed compared to the previous draft. To summarize, the article now appears to have both points resolved: Self-Advertisement & References. This article was subject to be edited by me as KylieTastic reviewed the article for submission and highlighted the flaws of the article; Inadequate external sources and non-neutral tone This is to inform you that both of these flaws have been resolved by me and I believe the article is now ready for submission again. Please let me know what to do to contest the speedy deletion and resubmit the article for review after making the changes highlighted by you and KylieTastic. Thank you and apologies for not submitting a thoroughly inspected article draft initially.

2021 draft picks on Minor league articles

We should honestly wait for some of these guys drafted this year to actually become top prospects before adding them to the minor league player articles. Most of these guys are just gonna flame out and never become notable then there becomes a backlog of a bunch of scrubs on these pages. We've had similar issues like this in the past.-- Yankees10 22:58, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Yankees10 I've been basing it off coverage received (so closer to meeting notability standars) while also taking prospect status into account. If the player does flame out I have no issue removing and nominating the redirect for deletion myself. However, I'm not sure there are anymore picks with above average coverage until updated prospect lists start to come out. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:08, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Dear User:GPL93 Thank you for your message at my draft a few days ago. I just want to confirm if the article is still waiting to be reviewed, or if I need to make any changes. I have created a duplicated article after your message just because I thought that I needed to do that, but I understand that it was a mistake. Sorry about that, the duplicated one was deleted already. Best! User:CamilaUK ˜˜˜˜

Chris Murphy (baseball)

Hi GPL93, when you added Chris Murphy (baseball) at Boston Red Sox minor league players, the link for "Mission Hills, CA" (his place of birth) was set to Mission Hills, San Diego. As Murphy grew up and attended high school in Granada Hills, Los Angeles, I wanted to check and see if perhaps he was actually born in Mission Hills, Los Angeles? Sourcing that I've found so far doesn't seem to be clear. Thanks. Dmoore5556 (talk) 21:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

@Dmoore5556: thank you for pointing this out. I can't find any references that identify which Mission Hills it is as they all say "Mission Hills, CA". It's likely the Los Angeles one though given his high school and hometown. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:51, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. For now, I've added a note to his entry to state it's unclear. Hopefully there will be a source that clarifies things. Dmoore5556 (talk) 00:38, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Untruthfull respond for deleting my page MissTrend (talk) 06:07, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

@MissTrend: your user page violated our guidelines, which state that user pages should only contain information about yourself in the context of editing Wikipedia. I also did not delete it as I'm not an administrator, you will need to contact User:Fastily who actually deleted the page. If you want to report me, go right ahead but maybe read WP:BOOMERANG first. I didn't violated anything so I disagree, in fact the story it truthfull since iamhailey20231 is me. I created the diss track t9 protect Blackpink and I wrote this page to tell the whole truth and reason for it. So as much as you think that it's untruth it's the truth. But you know what, whatever delete my acc if you feel the need to. I don't care.

Florida?

Hmm must be hard being an Eagles fan then, given all the Alabama input there! Roll Tide! Drmies (talk) 15:12, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

@Drmies: I spent part of my childhood living in South Florida in the mid-2000's when it was easier to be a Gator fan and Alabama was stuck with Mike Shula. Ha, Mike Shula, sure--but I remember the others as well. Mike Dubose. Mike Price. Shameful--and that's when I was at Alabama. Take care, Drmies (talk) 15:21, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

Response to comment

In regards to this comment, not sure I'd link to either of the named cases in terms of behavior. I think they are translating articles from the Azeri Wikipedia and that there is also possibly UPE (which may be the underlying link to the other named cases).--Eostrix  (🦉 hoot hoot🦉) 16:37, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

@MJL: Sadly, I doubt it' not WP:MEAT at the least as they originally started editing arounf the same time at Draft:E11EVEN Miami, which EntertainmentWatchdog requested deleted under WP:G7 right before republishing under a slightly different name in the mainspace (It had been rejected multiple times, so likely trying to WP:GAME the system). Draft Page Deletion - Contest Deletion

The request for speedy deletion of Draft: Elevate Oral Care site was inappropriate and untimely. The page was in draft form so the historical foundation could be posted, a link created and pushed out to the dental community for editing. In less than 12 hours the draft was deleted an did not permit any of these actions from taking place. My relationship with Elevate Oral Care is publicly disclosed as instructed by Wikipedia in my profile. Additionally, my posting of the background information is appropriate in that we are a privately held company and there are no Securities Exchange Commissions listings or other references to provide such information. A citation was provided to our articles of incorporation. Only a principal of the organization would have the knowledge to post such information. No where on the page was listed any promotional information, citations were to third party publications and professional dental organizations (most non commercial). One link was provided to Elevate Oral Care website and equal links were provided to other mentioned competing companies. One of our products already has a Wikipedia page (Silver Diamine Fluoride) and has been Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the Food and Drug Administration (as a life saving product), and we have been added to the World Health Organizations list of essential medications (page 18 the following reference).[1] Please re-post the article, and assist me by removing any material you deem as marketing. The page will be sent to the dental community for modifications as soon as possible. Spardue13 (talk) 13:46, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

GPL93 is not an administrator, so can't restore your "article" even if they wanted to, which I don't suppose they do, as it was pure advertising. Bishonen | tålk 16:41, 28 October 2021 (UTC).
@Spardue13: per Bishonen I did not actually delete the draft, but rather I flagged it as likely needing to be deleted because it violated Wikipedia policy. The admin agreed and deleted it. GPL93 (talk) 16:54, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
@GPL93: Thanks for the clarification. Which admin deleted it and how can I contact them? Rather than deleting the whole page, can someone help me parse down the content so only allowed information is posted? I have a backup copy of the original content that can be modified.

Drake - Iowa comment

I didn't say that they had moved the article from draft space to article space. I said that a reviewer had moved the article from article space to draft space, and warned them not to move it back to article space without discussion. Move-warring of articles between article space and draft space is excessively common; you probably knew that. It is common enough that I routinely caution the author of such a page not to move it back to article space.

No harm, no foul. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:31, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Myrna Pearman (References Added)

Hi GPL93 Thank you very much for graciously showing me the Wikipedia etiquette. I appreciate you moving my first article, "Myrna Pearman," back to a draft rather than deleting it. I've acted on your feedback and added many more references to independent sources. I've since submitted the article for review (as you suggested) a month or so ago and am currently waiting. While I wait for the article to be reviewed, I would appreciate your feedback. Your opinion of if I have referenced enough sources would be of value to me. Most respectfully MackenzieBailey (talk) 22:07, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi GPL93

I've contested your recommendation that the article Myrna Pearman be deleted. The subject of the article is notable: Pearman is a published book author, she has co-authored or authored several scientific papers in her niche and has appeared on CBC. The article is comparable to existing articles: I've structured the article based on established naturists (e.g. ,you'll find the Pearman's page resembles Jane Goodalls Wikipedia page). The article is credible: I've included external links to studies, local news, articles, and more; third-party sources are cited.

If you think some elements should be removed, that's fair and valuable feedback (please be specific). If you think the tone should be adjusted, I'm happy to adjust (everyone can improve, myself included). But the deletion of the page seems unfounded.

Respectfully, MackenzieBailey (talk) 19:10, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

@MackenzieBailey: Well to start, it is very clear that you have a WP:COI given the photos you added to the page and that must be declared. Additionally, Jane Goodall's article does not match the CV-Resume style that the draft was in and the WP:REFBOMBing of the subjects own writings should generally be avoided. The reviewing administrator agreed that the article would need to be entirely re-created due to coming off as overtly promotional (per the WP:G11 criteria for speedy deletion) and therefore deleted it. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:19, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi GPL93, Actually, you're right. Please show me a little grace. :) I spent a lot of time writing that article, and I felt I had acted on your original feedback (citations) well. So I was surprised (and a little cross) that you recommended the deletion of the article from a totally different angle. But, I've thought it over, reread my work, and I see your point. I write positively about things in general, and in this case, it came off as a little promotional. I'll rewrite the article taking your points to heart. May I reach out to you when I've done so? As you have much more experience, I really do value your feedback. Most respectfully. MackenzieBailey (talk) 19:34, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Re: Matt Lovell (nutritionist) page created

Hi GPL93, thank you for the welcome and I believe I have declared my COI now. However, I would appreciate your comments if you think it is sufficient. In terms of the definition of promotion, I can remove all references to company names but that may render some of the information meaningless and that would be a shame as my intention is to join the pieces of information that are floating around in the press but disconnected. If all company names are to be removed does this also include from the references and citations as they are included there. Is there something specific that is troubling you in what I have written, if so I shall review accordingly? As I am completely new to this process, but have thoroughly enjoyed digging through information, your comments would be much appreciated. Thanks for your timeQPMZWO (talk) 16:01, 21 November 2021 (UTC) I believe I had actioned everything you suggested to rebut the presumption of CIO and FCIO and have requested a new editorial input. Look forward to seeing if this is sufficient. Best wishesQPMZWO (talk) 13:35, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Re: Nomad Capitalist page

Hi GPL93, is there any update on the Nomad Capitalist page? There are more than 10 legitimate news sources listed, so I don't see notability being an issue. The company is featured by CNBC, Forbes, and others. Let me know what you think. Doctorstrange617 (talk) 14:49, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Ted Lawlor

I was reviewing it, when you tagged it for csd. I thought I accidentally tagged it for csd so quickly removed the tag but, then, I saw the history. While I agree that was unacceptable as it seemed paid editing and lacking rs, I feel the draft can be improved and it seemed in a much better state than the other upe submissions I see. Therefore, I declined the submission for future improvements but didn't think of csd-ing it. I could be wrong, but can you please elaborate on why you prefered csd-ing it than tagging it for improvement? Lightbluerain (Talk | contribs) 17:35, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

@Lightbluerain: I didn't think there was much of a chance of improvement given that is was what appeared to be self-written vanity page and the draft would likely have to be completely rewritten. I did not re-tag, but it looks like an admin still G11-ed it. Best, GPL93 (talk) 00:18, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Irina Konstantinova (blogger)

Good afternoon! I don't understand why the administrators of the English wikipedia want to delete my articles. Maybe my English is bad? The suspicion that I am receiving payment is wrong. I am a rich man, now I live in my villa on the Mediterranean Sea. I have a business, and wikipedia is my hobby. I am also a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts. I ask you to explain my mistakes. I think international fashion magazines are very respected sources. I also write about artists and musicians, our contemporaries. I think this is very important, because after their death it will be impossible to find out the truth.

P.S. I have made changes to the article. With respect Олег Черкасский (talk) 15:46, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

@Олег Черкасский: The sourcing is still pretty terrible as it's a combination of paid press (photos by "Press Service" pretty much give it away), non-reliable sites, passing mentions, and self-works. I'm bringing it to AfD. Also, please cut it with the "I don't need money" schtick. GPL93 (talk) 16:27, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. I probably shouldn't write in the English wikipedia, I don't understand the importance of sources correctly. I thought Cosmopolitan, GRAZIA and Marie Claire were reliable sources. I have one more question: is the https://disruptmagazine.com/ site a good source or not? Thanks for the reply. I will study the life of Americans.Олег Черкасский (talk) 17:17, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
As an example, the Marie Claire reference is written by the subject and not about the subject so it does not lend itself to notability. A feature article in the actual magazine would, but a self-written post that has under 200 total views does not. Also Marie Claire Russia's appears to be pretty open to paid media for influencers so I'd say that their standing as an actual reliable source in this context is dubious. GPL93 (talk) 17:26, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Yes, thanks, I get it. I write about artists and musicians usually. Bloggers are a new experience for me. I thought that these women are doing a useful thing, and now the press is writing a lot about it. I have to look at the sources carefully.Олег Черкасский (talk) 17:25, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

Birth place info

Jon Rhattigan was born in Ypsilanti MI 73.254.72.24 (talk) 01:37, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Do you have any sourcing supporting that? GPL93 (talk) 01:40, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Jim S. Adler

Hello, GPL93! I didn’t realize the page for Draft: Jim S. Adler is for the same person’s article that had been deleted several years ago. I heard about the guy while watching the John Oliver Show and other shows and then I found a lot of in-depth sources about him showing signs of notability. Many articles have been published in the last 2-3 years, so the situation has probably changed. I submitted the draft for review per your suggestion and you are more than welcome to review and comment. Thanks --KhinMoTi (talk) 18:16, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
