Lady Gaga on the list of bestselling artists

edit

The links for Lady Gaga's entry on the list of bestselling music artists do not support the information in the entry. Nowhere in any of the links does it say that she has sold over 60 million albums (in fact, the link that is used to support the 60 million album amount says she has only sold 13 million). Please check the links and consider removing her from the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.23.113.210 (talk) 18:17, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Splitting JJ's Discography

edit

I have pretty much done both the articles of both The albums and singles discography in a practice page. but before i go ahead and move them i would like you to check both out to see if anything needs correcting and if you think both are eligible for move. I know you started up a talk about splitting her discography last year but i don't know what happened. I personally hate seeing artists like kylie minogue and Mariah Carey with split discographys but have janet being left behind.User:Tombo671/Janet Jackson albums discography & User:Tombo671/Janet Jackson singles discography Tombo671 (talk) 11:06, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

—Okay, I have already started correcting a few things in your album's page, or if you wanna just use mine and correct stuff on there since both mine are more "completed". I'm fine either way. Whoever we use both need a bit of work and I'm happy to help out before we get it out there.Tombo671 (talk) 08:44, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

—What i meant by more complete was the information and the certifications etc. Of course it's not perfect thats why you should feel free to remove anything you see as bad on it. Also i'm not actually the one that created her discography or put the sourcing there in the first place, No one els removed them so i figured maybe it was alright. No hard feelings anyway haha Tombo671 (talk) 16:35, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

—That site is not the official site. just a secondary site, It doesn't track all the peak positions by every song the artist has either. The official site is the ARIA (Which won't expand their database) I have a pre-1997 Certification/peak sheet from a guy with 30 years of Aria research(hes written loads of books aswell). I can personally email you it if you want. It shows the weekly positions and Certifications.Tombo671 (talk) 10:23, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

—Are you sure you have given me the right email? i have tried emailing you twice and got a postmaster delivery failure :/, Just email me at tombo671@yahoo.com and i will reply. And as for Canada i pretty much searched the RPM archives. Source for RN >http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/rpm/028020-119.01-e.php?&file_num=nlc008388.9087&type=1&interval=20&PHPSESSID=4dp17sl7hp9qmhhj3vmcenr836 and Janet> http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/rpm/028020-119.01-e.php?&file_num=nlc008388.0978&type=1&interval=20&PHPSESSID=djl517hee0trut00rjeuuikn10

The singles are all sourced in their articles. Tombo671 (talk) 08:45, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Pitbull Planet Pit Official Album Cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Non-free rationale for File:U2-1987-joshua-tree.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:U2-1987-joshua-tree.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. New suggestion at the List of best-selling music artists

Remember our consensus for Trimming at List of best-selling music artists?

edit

An editor Subtropical-man has re-created List of best-selling music artists (50 million to 69 million records) despite our consensus. I have nominated it for AfD. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of best-selling music artists (50 million to 69 million records). Also, could you please clarify at the thread Re: Splitting VS Trimming - continuation for Subtropical-man once again whether you meant Trimming when you wrote Support.--Harout72 (talk) 00:37, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

There was no clear consensus to remove content from Wikipedia (Trimming), but only to reduce the size of the main article. I noticed, you wrote Support to reduce the size of the main article (not specify how: splitting or trimming). Also, big changes by Harout72 have been made after two days of discussion and between only four users. Too fast. Please give more time for discussion rather than 2 days and quickly change. Should be more opinions from more users. Ok? Thank you. Subtropical-man (talk) 00:44, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

New deletion process

We didn't succeed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of best-selling music artists (50 million to 69 million records), it was merged. I started a new deletion process for the bottom two sections. You're invited to cast your vote. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 05:33, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Janet Jackson (album)

edit

Janet Jackson (album) is undergoing a GA reassessment. Most problems have been tackled, however, the article does not meet criteria 3a, as it does not address the main aspects of the topic - there is almost nothing about production of the album, and little about critical reception on release. The reassessment is on hold for seven days to allow time to build the article. SilkTork (talk) 02:04, 29 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
