Freight Train (album)

Please don't use words like "currently," as temporal terms of that sort can get outdated very fast. I once saw an article claiming that something was "currently" happening even though it had stopped two years ago. Orphaned non-free image File:1982 Billy Idol.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1982 Billy Idol.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Americajr.com

Hey, sorry about that one. I was concerned about the site at first since it looks a lot less professional than most websites, and at first I couldn't find any sort of info on the authors. However, a closer look shows that several of the contributors are primarily journalists, so I would say it's probably reputable. Outlaw (Mark Chesnutt album)

Please don't put album pages in Category:Country albums. They're already in subcategories of that category (e.g. the "[name of artist] albums" categories). Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 12:59, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Janet Jackson

I've kind of stopped editing wikipedia and I'm glad someone is watching the Janet related articles but be careful when discussing genres. Allmusic clearly lists the control "genre" as "R&B". Avoid using the "styles" because those lists can go on forever. The genre field is meant to use the most general dominate genre. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 19:32, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

All About Tonight

Please don't quote the whole chorus in song articles. There really shouldn't be a need to quote lyrics for the most part. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 20:48, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Album covers

Please do not upload high resolution album covers, as we have a strict non-free content criteria policy that allows low resolution images. Album covers should be no bigger than 300×300 pixels. See Template:Infobox album#Cover for more information. Thank you. — ξxplicit 04:49, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:JJama98 4.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:JJama98 4.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 03:50, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Please see the source added and then revert. Don't make such silly edits. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:55, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

"such silly edits"? when I see "Undid revision 371290100 by Gabe19" I automatically undo that edit. You should have put that source to begin with. Ga Be 19 04:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Gabe, I apologize for being rude to you previously, seeing that you are acting on a good faith. Would you like some help on the Janet Jackson articles? Its sad tht Bookkeeper left. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:21, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Legolas, I apologize as well if I angered you in anyway, after joining Wikipedia in October this past year, I've been using it everyday and try my best to make it better than it is. After seeing that Janet related articles were in desperate need of updating, I made it a priority to clean them up, and I would love to get some extra help in doing so. I've been planning on expanding on Damita Jo for some time now, and plan on submitting what I have this next week. And on a side note, I read the comment you made about me being a 'albeit Janet Fan' on your talk page and just wanted to say that me being a Janet fan had no influence on those edits. I felt that they weren't suitable as a resource, and I apologize if you took them that way, after all were all here on Wikipedia for one reason, and that's to help make Wikipedia a better site for information. Regards, Ga Be 19 07:24, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
and P.S, do you know why did Bookeeper left? Ga Be 19 07:25, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
I haven't left Wikipedia entirely, I just needed an extended vacation from editing 24/7 to focus on other things. I do miss wikipedia and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. :) The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 09:58, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Sales/Shipments

Hey. I don't understand what you meant when you said 'sales shipments no longer listed' and deleted the entire sales column in Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory. At first, I had thought that it was a new rule or something but your removing of the sales column in Backstreet Boys' Millennium has been challenged and reverted by an experienced editor. I just wanted to know if you had a strong reason for the removing of the sales columns in those articles. KingdomHearts25 (talk) 11:59, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, I remember seeing that many users were making edits like that on pages saying that they were no longer listed, per the talk page of the "Wikipedia Record Charts talk page". I tried searching it up, but I couldn't find anything on it. That's why I made those edits. Personally, I think it looks better without them, but I'll try to see if I can find anything on it and I'll let you know. Ga Be 19 17:06, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Rainbow

Can you tell me why you would remove that, when there is clearly a need for it?--PeterGriffinTalk 07:28, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Well, considering "Platinum" in Germany was 500,000 until 1999, then went down in numbers twice more, I think its important. Due too low sales from illegal downloads, certification requirements are much lower than before. Take France for example, Diamond used to be 1,000,000, now its 750,000 I believe. So when a reader clicks on the certifications page and sees the amounts, its good for them to bear in mind the sales were probably higher when the album was released. Its on virtually every album page I've seen.--PeterGriffinTalk 08:46, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
No, that's not the point at all, let me explain. When someone will read the current certification levels, they will think, "Wait, how the hell did this sell 20 million copies when the actual sales are so low." By reading that little message, they will understand that "hey, maybe 10 years ago, you and to sell more album to receive those certifications, so maybe thats why the sales don't add up." Its basically just supposed to serve as a small notice to the reader, not inflate or anything such.--PeterGriffinTalk 06:31, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Streets-of-Gold-720px.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Streets-of-Gold-720px.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:05, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

It's not content-relevant at all, MetroLyrics don't have official lyrics and are at many times wrong, but the most important is WP:ALBUMSEL and WP:ELNO. Lyrics are copyrighted. Yves (talk) 16:41, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
