Greetings, since you took part in the review at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Mount Hudson/archive1 I was wondering if you had any thoughts on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Cerro Panizos/archive1, especially the disagreement between me and David Fuchs. Abortion

edit

I am very inexperienced with Wikipedia, but regularly view its content. I notice little mistakes as I go, and I saw one for the definition of abortion. That one is locked, however, so I can't edit directly (and I can't complete the training quick enough to make things worthwhile). SO here goes.

The current definition is "Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus." But that definition omits the critical information about whether the embryo or fetus is alive or dead after an abortion.

I looked at the hyperlink that is shown for the definition, and there are multiple options. One of those options is better "Induced termination of pregnancy, involving destruction of the embryo or fetus."

A better way of saying all of this is "Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus without creating an live human offspring.

(Note: I recently updated the definition of the word offspring as well!). MCF66 (talk) 08:04, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy without creating a live human offspring.

Abortion can either occur spontaneously, or it can be induced. Spontaneous abortions occur naturally in some pregnancies, and are also known as miscarriages. Induced abortions (known simply as "abortions") are peformed using medication, surgery, or other methods.

Medication is the most common method of abortion in the U.S., using thw drug mifepristone. Surgery is also frequently performed, and most often uses a suction device to remove the embryo/fetus from the uterus. Other methods, which are used less frequently, include using herbs, abdominal pressure, sharp instruments, or induced labor

(talk page stalker)/MCF66 - While HJM may have a view on this, I'd suggest it is really one you should take to the article Talkpage. It's a contentious subject, and a heavily-edited and well-visited page. Taking it to Talk will enable a much wider range of interested editors to comment on your suggested amendments. i don't know how. MCF66 (talk) 00:35, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) - Sure you do. Just as you’ve posted on this Talkpage, post exactly the same thing on the Abortion Talkpage. KJP1 (talk) 04:29, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, you blocked User:Garrywales Smith in March for being one of a network of spam accounts. Another account has just submitted one of their creations, Draft:Vinay K Srivastava, for AFC review on their first edit. Their only other edits so far were creation of the same draft in January 2023, which was declined and eventually deleted db-G13. Should I file an SPI? If so, which account is the master? Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 09:49, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
